“I’m tying up loose ends.”
“But Ford?” Eve started.
“Ford never killed anyone except your slutty friend.”
“Don’t talk about Donette that way,” Eve spat.
“You know she was sleeping with Grady, don’t you?”
Eve’s head went sideways.
“Grady was sleeping with everyone, including me. But that’s not why I killed him.”
“Then why did you?” I asked her point blank, pointing the rifle at her.
“I was just following orders.” She glanced around. First at me holding the rifle and then at the others with their guns drawn on us. “Looks like you’re outnumbered. Drop the rifle and I might let you live long enough to take Kingpin a message from my boss.” Viv puckered and smiled at the same time.
Doing the math, I steered the rifle down a hair.
Eve asked, “What about Earl?”
“I killed him, too, for alerting the Royal Bastards MC.”
“But Jasper…” I started.
“Yeah, that poor boy did everyone’s bidding. He killed your boy Sadist. What a shame. I liked him, Sadist that is. Not creepy Jasper.”
“Who’s orders?” I finally asked.
“Mr. Fond will not have Kingpin’s men taking over Broadway. Tell him to quit recruiting his managers.”
“All this killing for that?” Eve asked, her voice high.
“And one more,” Viv said, her gun square on Eve who stepped out from behind my back. “I planned to pin it all on you, innocent Eve. That’s what the text from Grady was all about. Oh, he typed all that out but was too scared to send it. He left it in his notes. I sent it and got in your locker to read it and reply.”
“And you told the bikers about me, about my dad?”
“Yeah, I hoped they’d kill you so I wouldn’t have to.”
The whole time she confessed, I watched Viv’s finger like a hawk. Therefore, I knew right when she was about to shoot. “Eve, run,” I shouted, jumping in between Viv’s gun and her chest. Somehow, I fired my rifle as Viv’s bullet tore into my arm. I hit Viv in the leg, and she collapsed to the ground. Two of her goons were on me in a flash. One shot me in the thigh as the other tackled me. One of them ran after Eve who had run through the house. He brought Eve back into my view by the hair of her head.
“Why I ought to,” the man began, taking down his pants.
Viv yelled out, “Give it to her good before we kill her. Boy’s hold the biker’s eyes open.”
The man planned to rape Eve in front of me. I struggled as two men held me down, one shoving his fist into the wound in my leg. The other tried to go after my eyes. Viv held the hole in her leg and laughed like a cow. The man holding Eve had his dick out wrestling her around. She fell on the ground and began crawling away as he taunted her.
“Come get your last meal,” he crooned
Helpless, I fought to get loose. With my good leg, I kicked one of the men in the chin while the man caught Eve by a leg and dragged her onto her back. As the worst was about to happen, I regretted ever knowing Eve. It was my fault she was in this mess. If I’d never gone to Bootsies on Halloween, or didn’t break up with Stephanie, none of this would be happening. Even so, I wouldn’t close my eyes and let Eve suffer alone. As I watched the man, his pants around his ankles approach a very frightened Eve, the man’s dick exploded. Blood squirted from his crotch as he stared down in horror. At the same time a shot had sounded, piercing my ears. Kingpin stepped into view, his shotgun visible to all. Out of nowhere Goliath tackled the men who secured me, both of them, removing them with ease.
“I ought to put you out of your misery,” Kingpin said to Viv before he shot her other leg. “But I ain’t gonna. You’re going to prison with two bum legs. You’ll be easy pickings. Tell Mr. Fond to eat my ass.” Since I couldn’t move, he helped Eve from the floor and started chatting with her like nothing had happened. “This your place?”
“It’s my Gran’s house.” Eve rushed to me and sank to her knees. She tried to hold the blood in me. Blood was everywhere. Soon, Eve’s hands were covered.
“And her name is?” Kingpin asked her. Eve answered him while she slapped at my face. My eyes had been closing, but she shook me awake.
“Hallow don’t leave me. Don’t shut your eyes.”
