Page 30 of Sanction

Travis

It’s been ten hours since we received the message from Viper’s bitch ass. The fact he sent his threat through a fucking email shows just how unhinged he really is. Does he still think we will just fold? I turned off the shower and stepped out onto the mat. I needed something to wake me up. The coffee isn’t cutting it and I was drunk enough the first two days they were gone. I need a clear head and a sober mind to be able to do my best work. When I walk out of my bathroom, Violet stands at my doorway.

“Hey Dom…. I know things have been tense around here. I just wanted to offer my…...comfort.” She bats her fake lashes and traces the neck of her low-cut tank top.

Sleeping with a club girl is literally the last thing on my mind. I haven’t slept with one in a while. Since she haunted me with those three words. I’m sure some of the brothers have started to notice. Thank God Maverick hasn’t. He’s been too busy fucking my sister to worry about my own involvement with his.

“Thanks, Violet. But I’ll have to pass.” I pull on my T-shirt as she gives a small smile and leaves my room.

I yanked up my jeans when Widow walked in. “How you holding up?” He leans against my door frame with a serious expression.

I shrug. “By a fucking thread.”

I snatch up my phone and reach for my gun in my dresser.

He pulls a cigarette from his pocket. “Tanner is strong. She’s a fighter.”

I nod. “I know. She’s tougher than she looks.”

“So’s Dani.” He adds.

The mention of her name causes my muscles to tighten.

“We’re y’all fighting?” He asks.

I bark out a dry laugh. “We’re always fighting.”

He smiles. “That girl loves the shit out of you.”

“I know.” I sigh.

“She always has,” he says quietly.

I don't even know why.

“We’ll get them back, Dom.” He taps the door frame and leaves through a cloud of smoke.

There’s nothing you can hide from that man. I swear he has some psychic powers or something. Or he is just that perceptive. He’s known about my complicated relationship with Dani for a while, but he’s as good as gold. He never leaks my shit and always gives me some sort of words of wisdom. I’m just about to hit the top of the stairs when Boston comes into view.

“You need to get down here.”

The spike of adrenaline swirls in my veins as I rush down the stairs. My eyes land on a young kid in a Serpents cut and I immediately see red. My hands ball into fists as I charge him. I’m caught by Maverick and Widow, who are yelling in my ear, but they sound a thousand miles away. My mind is on this kid who knows where they are.

“Dom! Calm the fuck down! Let him talk.” Widow’s voice snaps me back and I stop fighting against them.

“Then start talking,” I bark as I jerk from Maverick’s grip.

“I’m sorry, I had no idea Viper was like this, or what I was getting into.”

The kid’s voice is shaky and I will be honest, he looks genuinely scared.

He clears his throat. “I know where they are. He’s sent me a couple of times to go switch out with some others who stay with them. There are only five guys at a time that stand guard.”

“Are they hurt?” I ask him.

He flickers his eyes between us. “They are surviving. Some of the guy’s…...”

“Spit it out,” Maverick growls.
