“I’m sorry.”

“Don’t be sorry. He loves you, that’s all.”

“You really are planning to stay here for the long term?”

He strokes my cheek with the back of his fingers. “Yes.”

I let out a breath of air. “The agent scheduled the closing at noon on Tuesday. Are you able to get back in town by then?”

“Yes. I’m going to cancel my flight Sunday.”

“Good. I’m not ready for you to leave yet.”

“You’re going to have to do some shopping though.”

I raise my eyebrow at him. “Shopping?”

“Yep. I need furniture, everything for the kitchen, bedding, all of it. I’m assuming you like to pick stuff out?”

“Is that really a question?”

“I’m going to have my Amex send over a card for you.”

He’s issuing an Amex for me?

“You want me to pick stuff out and just buy it before you see it?”

“Yes. I’ve seen your place. You have good taste.”

He cannot be serious.

“Why don’t you go with me, and I’ll give my opinion?”

“We can shop this weekend, but honestly, whatever you want to get is what I’ll get. My sister picked out everything in my New York place.”

“Really? She has good taste.”

He runs his hand through my hair. “Yes, she does but so do you.”

I bite my lip. “Thank you. You want to stay coastal, right?”

“I thought it was pretty nice that way, but what do you think? If you want to change it, we can.”

If I want to change it, we can?

I stare at him. “I like the coastal theme.”

“Okay. Coastal it stays, then.” He picks his fork up and takes a bite of his salad.

I take a bite of mine as well.

We finish our meal, tour the penthouse again, and spend the rest of the day shopping for furniture. Every piece of furniture I notice, Chase pulls me onto his lap. We make out on so many sofas, I forget that we’re supposed to be picking out pieces.

At night, we head over to Charlotte’s. She’s invited everyone to come over and play games since she’s still not fully recovered but getting bored.

Noah, Piper, Xander, Quinn, and Jamison are all there when we arrive.

After I say hi to everyone, I walk into the kitchen where Quinn is making her famous cheese dip. “Jamison is still in town?”
