She avoids my eyes. “Yep.”
“Is he staying with you?”
“Nope. He can go back to New York now.”
He can go back to New York?
“What’s going on?” I ask her.
“Nothing.”
I sigh. “Quinn—”
“I don’t want to talk about it,” she cheerfully says and gives me a fake smile.
“Okay. I’ll drop it.”
“So you and Chase are together now?”
“Yes.”
“Why do you have bodyguards? First Piper, now you?”
“Ms. Thursday is stalking us.”
Quinn’s gapes at me. “Stalking you?”
“Yes.”
Chase walks into the kitchen, grinning. “Hey, Quinn.” He kisses her on the cheek and pops a tortilla chip from the platter into his mouth.
Quinn glares at him. “Ms. Thursday is stalking Vivian?”
His face falls. He finishes chewing, swallows, and sighs. “Yes. I didn’t know Meredith was crazy.”
Quinn snorts. “She let you assign her a day of the week. That wasn’t a big enough red flag?”
Chase’s face turns beet red.
“Quinn—” I begin.
“No. Don’t stick up for him now that you’re together.”
“Quinn!” I gape at her.
Jeez. She’s pissed at Jamison for whatever is going on. She doesn’t need to take it out on us.
Chase puts his hand on my arm. “It’s okay.”
Piper and Charlotte sit down on the barstools on the other side of the kitchen. “What are you all talking about?” Piper asks.
“How Chase put Vivian in danger.” Quinn glares at Chase.
“Easy there, Quinn,” Piper says, sticking up for Chase and surprising me and Chase from the expression he gives her.
“Easy? Vivian has security guards following her because of some crazy woman, and you’re telling me to go easy?” Quinn says.
“She has a point,” Charlotte mumbles.
