I kiss him. “Thank you.”
Chase and I are meeting his family, and after we visit with them, the table is gone.
I wrap my arms around him. “My hero.”
“I don’t know if we have time to find a new one before we leave.”
“Have your sister pick one out. Just tell her to make sure it’s different from the old one.”
“Done.”
“Since you’re in hero mode today, I have one more thing I want to talk to you about.”
He furrows his brows. “What’s that, Vivian?”
I take a deep breath. “I know you wanted the foundation to name the park and garden after me, but I don’t want that.”
He sighs, doesn’t look happy, but slowly says, “Okay. What do you want to name it?”
“I want to name the park after Páppa and the gardens after Mama.”
He smiles at me. “I’m okay with that.”
“You are?”
His grin widens. “Yes. I think that’s a great idea. And I’ll just put a huge statue of you in the park.”
“You’ll what? No!”
He laughs. “I’m just teasing.”
I elbow him. “Don’t ever do that to me again. I almost had a heart attack.”
He kisses me. “I think your parents will love your idea.”
I nod.
“I have something to tell you now.”
“Go on.”
“I’m taking you and your parents to Greece for a few weeks.”
“What?”
“I’m going to put into practice all the Greek lessons your mom is giving me.”
“You sure you’re ready to test your skills?”
He winks. “We will find out.”
“You booked a trip though? And for my parents, too?”
“Yes.”
I put my arms around him tighter. “Chase, that’s…”
A tear slips down my cheek.
