My heart flutters. It shouldn’t. He has his friends with benefits back in New York, but I still wish he could fully be mine.

“Okay.”

“Are you still going to help me find properties?”

“Yes. I’d love to. How many do you need and what kind?”

“Five commercial locations, one in every corner of the city and one in the middle. Also, I need an apartment.”

“An apartment?”

“Yeah, I’m moving here.”

I gape at him. “You’re moving here? As in, leaving New York?”

“Yes. I need to be on the ground to get things going here.”

“Is Jamison moving, too?”

“He will be in and out at the start. I need a place big enough for him to crash when he’s in town. His own wing or something.”

“His own wing?”

“Yeah.” Chase nods.

“You will only find that if you buy a penthouse or a house outside the city.”

“I want to be in the city, so find me a penthouse. And I want to see the entire city.”

“You’re probably going to have to throw down five million for something like that.”

Chase shrugs. “Okay.”

“With the market we are in, cash is king right now.”

“I can do cash.”

“For which property.”

He shrugs again. “As long as we stay one-hundred million or less for the commercial buildings, we can do cash. If we have to go above that to get the right locations, then I’ll finance some of it. I don’t want to pull out of my investments.”

“You don’t want to pull out of your investments?” I cry out in surprise. I’m used to dealing with higher-end properties, but this is the largest deal I’ve ever been in front of. I knew Chase and Jamison had built a successful company, but that’s a lot of cash.

An amused grin forms on his face.

“Let me make sure I have this right. The total budget for the commercial properties is one-hundred million cash or with financing if higher, and five million for a killer penthouse.”

“Sounds about right.”

“I’m going to need to pull a commercial realtor in on this with me. I have a good friend who’s amazing. Is that okay?”

“Do whatever you need to do. I trust you.”

He trusts me. I wish I could say the same about him.

“I can handle the penthouse on my own.”

“I have no doubt about that.” He winks.
