Page 38 of Committed to You

“You need to move.”

He steps back.

I try to put myself together and flatten my tunic. “Do I look okay?”

“Beautiful, like always.”

“Thank you.”

Minutes pass as we stand there. I should go back to my date, but I don’t move.

“Fuck it.” He steps toward me and moves me against the wall again, kissing me, ruining me for anyone else’s lips. “Remember, that’s how you’re supposed to be kissed. Don’t settle for anything less.”

He grabs my hand and peeks out the door. We step into the hall just as Quinn comes around the corner. “Where have you been? Trent wants you, and the guys are trying to distract him.”

“Umm…” I look at Chase for help.

“Seriously? You want to go back to that guy?”

“I’m on a date.”

He sighs and looks at the ceiling then back at me. “Fine. I’ll go tell Trent you’re in the bathroom, and, Quinn, you walk out with Vivian.”

Chase turns to leave, and I grab his arm.

He arches an eyebrow.

“Thank you for helping.”

He winks and walks away.

Quinn grabs me. “What did you two just do?”

“Don’t ask.”

“Did you—”

“No. But if you need some privacy with Jamison, that room is a good place.” I give her a wink, still feeling the effects of the alcohol.

Quinn laughs.

“Hey, why aren’t you out with Jamison by yourself?” I inquire.

“Because of your man.”

“Sorry?”

“Chase was sulking, so Noah decided we all were going out, and Jamison couldn’t get out of it without telling him he was going out with me, and I didn’t want him to do that.”

“Why the secrecy, Quinn?”

“I don’t want to talk about it. Let’s go.” She takes my hand and tows me through the bar and to the table.

“Vivian!” Trent yells as I approach the table. Chase and Jamison are each sitting next to Trent. Piper is giving me a “where have you been” look, and there are several empty lines of shots on the table.

Chase stands up so I can sit next to Trent then settles on the other side of me.

This is so screwed up.
