“The penthouse is great. Let me see about the making out part again.” I lean into his lips, and he chuckles and wraps his arms around me.

I’m lost in him, oblivious to anything else, when he pulls back.

His eyes full of mischief, he says, “Let’s go check out the bedroom.”

Giggling, I get off his lap, and we walk hand in hand through the penthouse, making out in different rooms.

The place is large, and, besides the master, there are three other bedrooms and an in-law quarters that has its own master suite, kitchen, and living space. There is a separate elevator in there as well. “That can be for Jamison,” I tell him.

“So, what do you think?” Chase asks.

“I think you need to tell me what you think. You’re the one writing the check.”

“Vivian,” he moans. “I already went over this. I want your opinion. Please.” He pulls me into his body and tilts my head so I’m looking in his eyes.

I cave. “I think it’s awesome. The view is amazing. I love the coastal decor. It’s not Chicago style, but it works, and I like how it’s different. It won’t be on the market for long.”

“Great. Let’s buy it.”

“You haven’t seen anything else.”

“We can go look. I’m guessing the make-out potential will be the same in every other one, but I doubt we are going to find anything like this.”

I raise my eyebrows.

“What?”

“You weren’t exaggerating when we first met. You know real estate.”

Grinning, he pulls me into his arms. “I own over five hundred properties in New York alone.”

“Shut up.” I’m thinking he is teasing me.

His grin falls off his face.

What the…?

“You’re serious?” I stare at him in disbelief.

“Yes. You want to see the portfolio sometime?”

“Is there drool coming out of my mouth?”

He wrinkles his nose.

“How did you accumulate all that? I’ve been at this for almost ten years, and I’ve only been able to buy a few.”

“And you’ve done really well.” He leans down and kisses me.

I pull back. “Do you come from money?”

“No. I told you, Noah had us guys invest in his businesses. He did well for us. I take all the income that comes from it and my rental income and throw it into additional properties or reinvest in more businesses with Noah.”

“Jeez. I need to invest with Noah, it sounds like.”

Chase brushes my hair off my face, and says, “Let’s go look at the other penthouses and see if they come anywhere close to this place.”

We are walking out of the building when Chase’s phone rings. He sighs and sends it to voice mail.
