“No, thank you. This is a remarkable thing you are doing.”
“Thank Vivian, not me. I’ll text you when it’s signed.”
“Sounds great, Chase.”
I hang up my phone and do a victory pump in the air. Within minutes, I’m running into the mayor’s office, meeting with his assistant, and signing the agreement to purchase the land.
It’s after five when I am finished. I meet up with the guys for a run. We go to Noah’s gym and lift for a bit. Then I head back to my hotel, shower, and change.
I take Vivian’s bag she left the night before as well as her dress, and leave her toiletries in my room.
On the way to her place, I drop her dress off at a dry cleaners and give them Vivian’s address with instructions to deliver it when they are finished. Then I tell the Uber driver to pull over and wait while I get out at a flower shop. I have them wrap up two dozen long-stemmed red roses, and I head over to Vivian’s.
She buzzes me in quickly.
“Here’s your bag, in case you need it. The dry cleaners will deliver your dress by next week.” I set the bag down.
Vivian grins. “You took my dress to the dry cleaners?”
“Yes. And these are for you.” A big grin forms on her face when I pull the flowers from behind my back.
“Thank you.” She pulls me down, lightly pressing her luscious lips against mine, drawing me into a world that is full of promise, happiness, and love.
I grasp her waist and pull her into my hardening body and cup her head with my free hand.
“You smell good,” she murmurs between kisses.
“It’s the flowers.”
“No, it’s you, but they smell good, too.”
I kiss her some more, and she pulls back. “Let me get these in water.”
“Okay. You look really nice, too.” Vivian has on black skinny jeans and a gold tunic sweater with one shoulder cut out. “I especially like the access this gives me.” I put my lips on her shoulder and kiss her again.
She laughs. “If you keep this up, we won’t make our reservation.”
I hold my hands up. “Okay, I’ll be good.”
She hurries into the kitchen and returns with the roses in a vase, which she sets on the table.
“Ready?” She smiles.
“Where is your overnight bag?”
She points to the couch.
I pick up the bag, she takes her purse off the counter, and I help her into her coat. We are quickly out of her building and in a taxi. I put my arm around her and kiss her on the head.
“How did your offer turn out?”
“Great. The buyers are going to accept. It’s a cash deal with a quick close. I don’t expect any issues.”
“That’s great. Congrats.”
“You can congratulate me once it goes through.”
I know all the things that can go wrong with property deals. “Fair enough.”
