“Okay. I’ll drop it,” she calmly agrees.
“So you and Chase are together now?”
She’s glowing. “Yes.”
Movement by the door catches my eyes.
Are you kidding me?
“Why do you have bodyguards? First Piper, now you?” I start to cut up the onion.
“Ms. Thursday is stalking us.”
“Stalking you?”
“Yes.”
Chase struts into the kitchen. “Hey, Quinn.” He kisses me on the cheek and grabs a tortilla chip off the platter then pops it into his mouth.
.“Ms. Thursday is stalking Vivian?”
His face falls. He finishes chewing and swallows. “Yes. I didn’t know Meredith was crazy.”
I snort. “She let you assign her a day of the week. That wasn’t a big enough red flag?”
Chase’s face turns beet red.
“Quinn—” Vivian starts.
“No. Don’t stick up for him now that you’re together,” I hurl at her.
Life was so much easier when these guys weren’t in any of our lives.
“Quinn!” She gapes.
Chase puts his hand on Vivian’s arm. “It’s okay.”
Piper and Charlotte sit down on the barstools on the other side of the kitchen. “What are you all talking about?” Piper asks.
“How Chase put Vivian in danger.” I glare at Chase.
“Easy there, Quinn,” Piper protests.
Piper is sticking up for Chase? What the hell. Since when does she stick up for him?
“Easy there? Vivian has security guards following her because of some crazy woman, and you’re telling me to go easy?” I snarl.
“She has a point,” Charlotte mumbles under her breath.
Piper puts her hands in the air. “At least Chase hired protection for her. Noah did the same thing to keep me safe. Everything will be fine with security.”
I glare at Piper.
“Jeez, Quinn. You don’t have to give Piper the death stare,” Vivian tells me.
I snap my head toward Vivian. “This is serious. You could be hurt, or worse.”
“She’s right,” Charlotte quietly says.
