“What would it take for you to leave and never come back? To not attempt to inherit anything of Alejandro’s?”
“To be left alone forever from all of this. And my mama to be safe,” Valeria says.
“You’re willing to take our father down?” Santiago asks Valeria.
“Yes.”
“You might get killed,” Santiago states.
I put my arm around Valeria and look Santiago in the eye. “That’s a risk we’re willing to take for our freedom.”

Quinn
“It’s been five months. The clause was for thirty days. You need to sign for this, Quinn. I’ve let it go longer than I should have.” Noah sits across from me in his penthouse and hands me a pen.
A stack of documents with “sign here” stickies stick out everywhere.
“He isn’t dead. I’m not giving up on him,” I cry out.
Chase puts his arm around me. “We aren’t giving up, but decisions need to be made on things.”
“I don’t want to make decisions. I know nothing about all these things,” I tell them.
“We will guide you, but you need to sign, Quinn. Jamison was very clear that he wanted you to have full access to his assets and all the income,” Xander softly says.
“He’s not dead,” I insist.
Chase pulls me into his chest. “No one is saying he is dead. We aren’t claiming that. But you need to have the resources to make sure you and the baby are set for life. He wanted that.”
“He doesn’t know about our baby,” I cry out.
“Yes, even more reason that you need to sign. He wanted to make sure you were taken care of, and he would want his child to be,” Chase sternly says.
“Stop talking like he’s dead.” I push out of Chase’s arms. “All of you just stop!”
Piper comes over to the table. “Quinn, come sit with us. Take a break.” She pulls me up and guides me to the living area where Charlotte and Vivian are.
“I need to go,” I tell them.
“Quinn, sit down,” Charlotte says.
Vivian pats the seat next to her.
“No. I’m going to go. I’m tired and need to rest.”
Piper sighs. “Quinn, you can’t leave until you sign those papers.”
I glare at her. “I am not signing those papers. Jamison will come home soon.”
“His businesses are going to go down if you don’t sign. Decisions have to be made. You have to sign,” Piper sternly says.
I’m shaking my head no when the bell rings.
“That will be Cindy,” Noah says.
“Cindy? Why is she here?”
