I can’t reciprocate by buying you something of equal value, but you keep asking me for this, so here it is.
XOXO-

With my heartracing and my pulse beating hard, I hit send. It’s time for me to trust that I know what I’m doing and trust in Jamison.

Holy shit. It’s 4 a.m., and I’ve not slept. Quinn sent me her book to read, and I couldn’t put it down. My mind is spinning.
From a florist near her office, I order a dozen long-stemmed, pink roses, fill out the information online, and add a message for a card.
Doll,
Youare brilliant. I couldn’t put it down. Please send me the next book.
Miss you.
XOXO-
Jamison
PS - This needs to get out in the world. I see this on film.
I punchin my credit card and all the other information and hit the submit button. Shutting my computer, I put it on the ottoman and enter the bedroom.
My eyes immediately go to the side Quinn slept on all week.
I need to see her again soon.
Throwing off my clothes, I crawl under the covers and switch pillows for the one Quinn used. It smells like her, and I inhale a few times.
She said that it would be a few weeks until she and Vivian were going to come out to visit Charlotte.
Make it happen. Create your own opportunities, Jamison.
I’m not going to sleep and decide to occupy my time with a video game, so I throw on a pair of shorts and a T-shirt. I walk out of my apartment and through the penthouse to the main room.
I’m surprised to find Chase already playing games. “You can’t sleep, either?”
He pauses the game. “Nope.”
“The game helping you get Vivian off your mind?”
“Nope.”
I chuckle. “I’m glad you’re awake.”
“You happy to have someone beat your ass in person?” He throws the other controller at me.
“You wish. Anyway, what do you think about starting our conversations with the hospitals in Chicago? Instead of next month, what about next week?”
He slyly grins at me. “I think that’s an excellent idea.”
