“What we have is real. It’s new, but it doesn’t mean it’s not real,” I tell her.
She nods into my neck.
“Is this why you didn’t want anyone to know about us when we were in New York?”
“Yes.”
“You thought they might think you were easy?”
“Yes.”
I pull her tighter to me and sigh. “And why you don’t want them to know right now?”
She pulls back from me. “No. I meant it when I said that until we figure it out, I don’t want their advice. It’s not their business and only ours.”
“All right, doll.”
“Are you still okay with that?”
“Yes. Of course. I told you, as long as you’re mine.”
“I’m yours. I only want to be yours.”
“Good. Because I’m only yours.”

Vivianand I are flying into JFK. I haven’t seen Jamison since he surprised me in Chicago a few weeks ago. We talk daily. He sends me flowers every day at work, which helps brighten my day since I hate the new position my boss promoted me to. I told him he doesn’t have to, but he keeps sending them.
He’s read almost all my manuscripts. I only have a few more to send him. Every time he reads one, he tells me how amazing it is and all the things he thought about it.
Jamison keeps encouraging me to publish my novels, and I’m slowly growing the confidence to look into it a bit more. I reached out to Kim, and we are meeting up for coffee while I’m in town so I can ask her some questions. I also joined her social media group and have been interacting with some authors.
Since no one besides Vivian and Chase know Jamison and I are together, Piper is insisting we stay at her place. I’m trying to figure out how to stay at Jamison’s without anyone figuring out we’re together, but nothing is coming to my mind.
We left on a six o’clock flight since my boss won’t let me have any time off right now. It’s around nine o’clock, and Noah said he would send his driver to get us. Vivian and I are on the escalator going to the ground level when we see Jamison and Chase waiting for us.
Jamison and Chase pick Vivian and me up when they hug us.
“Chase, what’s wrong with your face? It looks bruised.” Vivian cups his cheeks.
The guys look at each other uncomfortably.
“What?” I ask Jamison.
“Xander gave Chase a nose punch for his birthday.”
“It was your birthday, and he punched you?” Vivian cries.
“Nope. It was his birthday, and he punched me.”
“Why did he punch you?” I ask him.
Silence.
Jamison finally says, “Xander thought he saw Billie. He didn’t and freaked, and we had all been drinking a lot. Everyone is fine. It’s water under the bridge now.”
