I sigh. “Okay, later.” I lean in and brush my lips against his.

He wraps his arms around me tighter and palms my head, deepening our kiss.

I begin to shift my body on him when the car stops. “That was quick,” I murmur against his lips.

“That’s the last thing that’s going to be quick tonight.” He winks. We get out of the car, and he grabs my bag and leads me into the lobby. “Pull out your ID, doll.”

I get out my identification card and hand it to the man at the front desk.

“Conroy, please give Quinn full access.”

“Sure thing, Mr. Lancott.”

I look at Jamison in question, but he just kisses the top of my head.

Conroy types something into the computer and hands me my card back. He points to a scanner box. “Please put your thumb on the screen and roll it like this,” he instructs.

I follow his instructions.

“Thank you, Ms. Sinclair. You only need to press your thumb on that box by the gate from now on.”

He doesn’t want me announced before I come up?

“Thank you.”

Jamison and I get through the security gate and into the elevator, and he punches in a code. It doesn’t take long before the doors open.

“Wow.” I’m taken aback by the view of the city, similar to the one Chase has but also different.

“Come on, doll.” He holds my hand and guides me through the penthouse, giving me a tour.

“This is beautiful,” I gush. It’s an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings, modern grays, blues, and whites.

“You like it?”

“What’s not to love? This is incredible.” The entire skyline can be seen through floor-to-ceiling windows lining the wall.

He puts his arms around my waist, and I put mine around his shoulders.

“Do you think you could see yourself here?”

“It’s beautiful,” I repeat.

“But would you be comfortable here?”

“I think someone would be insane to be uncomfortable here.”

He cups my face and brushes his thumbs on my cheeks. “Could you live here?”

My heart beats faster. What exactly is he asking?

“What do you mean?”

He takes a deep breath and gulps, staring into my eyes. “I miss you. I don’t like being apart.”

“I don’t like being apart, either.”

He puts his forehead against mine. “I love you.”
