Matt laughs. “Valeria is Jamison’s wife. Or is she your ex-wife now? Did Alejandro finally give you your freedom?”
Jamison jumps out of the booth and grabs Matt by the throat. “You always were a piece of shit. You know that?”
“Jamison,” I call out.
My brother steps up to Jamison. “Take your hands off him. You’re making a scene.”
I glance around and see the other tables have all stopped eating and talking and are watching our interactions.
Jamison lets go of Matt. “Stay out of my business.” He looks at my brother. “You and I need to sit down one of these days and talk.”
My brother sneers. “Are you married?”
Jamison doesn’t answer him.
My brother growls, “I told you to stay away from him, Quinn. You’re just as bad as Mom.”
“Stop it. You don’t know anything,” I cry out.
“Get out of this, Quinn. Before it’s too late.”
“Steven—”
He holds up his hand. “No. There is nothing you can say to justify this.” He turns to Jamison. “Stay away from my sister.”
“Not going to happen, and you don’t know what you’re talking about. Get your facts straight first,” Jamison sternly says.
“I’ve got my facts straight, alright. And anything I don’t know, it sounds like Matt can fill me in on.”
“Yep,” Matt says.
The manager comes over with several other male waiters. “Do we need to call the police?”
Everyone shakes their heads.
“We’re just leaving,” my brother tells him. “Let’s go, Matt.”
“Nice seeing you, Jamison,” Matt throws a final dig. “Quinn.” He arrogantly winks at me and follows my brother out of the restaurant.
I put my hands over Jamison’s clenched fists. “Sit down.”
He joins me. “You dated Matt?”
“Yes. My brother kept bugging me to go out with him.”
He looks away.
“Are you upset with me?” I cry out.
“No! I’m sorry, Quinn. I’m sorry about this entire scenario.”
I look in his eyes, feeling as if we’re at the beginning of the end, and I don’t know how to change the course.

“You all should know,Matt’s living in Chicago,” I text Chase, Noah, and Xander once I drop Quinn off at work and head to the airport.
