“Yes.”
Ethan turns to me. “I’m meeting Noah about a few things. You’re good with numbers. Why don’t you come with me and give me your opinion on a few things?”
I hesitate.
“I’ll come, too, if it’s okay?” Jamison asks.
“Yep. I’m sure we’ll be using your money,” Ethan replies.
Jamison pats my back. “Come on.”
Ethan bends down and pecks Claire on the lips. She stares at him, puts on a pair of cat-eye glasses, and his expression changes. If I didn’t know any better, I’d think he wants to bend her over on the spot. Her face turns red, but she smirks, which only makes his fuck-me eyes turn more heated. He licks his lips.
“Get out of here,” she orders.
He gives her one last look and says, “Lead the way, Jamison.”
“Harper and I will stay here with the baby. You can go into the den,” Quinn instructs my mom and Claire.
My mom rises, and they leave the room.
Harper pulls me down for a kiss then I leave with the guys.
Noah’s is close by, so we walk.
“So, what will you be using my money for?” Jamison asks when we get inside the lobby.
“Noah and I are looking to buy several buildings in Chicago. I’m going to expand my property management company here as well.”
“Good move. Chicago is booming,” I say.
Ethan nods. “There are several properties I’ve got my eye on. But I need to create a team here. Noah said your friend Vivian has gotten more involved in commercial property?”
Jamison chuckles. “I think she had to. Chase has bought several skyrises for our portfolio.”
“She’s good though?”
“Yep. Super thorough and knows how to negotiate.”
We get in the elevator and are soon inside Noah’s. In the next few hours, we look at properties, and I point out a few things standing out regarding the renovation estimates and other elements not on the spreadsheet. They are things I know because of the properties I’ve invested in. The buildings they’re considering are in the neighborhoods I’m familiar with, and no one else has any familiarity with these properties.
“How attached are you to your company?” Ethan asks me.
I snort. “That’s a loaded question.”
“He’s looking to leave,” Jamison says.
Noah gapes. “Since when?”
“Since I’ve been told to work on the governor’s campaign or I’ll lose my job.”
“I asked Piper why you would have accepted the role when I read it in the paper yesterday. She hasn’t had a chance to talk to Quinn yet, so I didn’t get an answer.”
“I’m not. It’ll be a cold day in hell before I work for Maximillion.”
“We need a team here. You want to talk about heading it up?” Ethan asks me.
“Really?”
