Her lips look just as delicious as they did last night.

“Are you staying here tonight, or are you going to stay at your place this week?”

“I didn’t think about it. I didn’t bring any clothes.”

Her face falls, but she tries to hide it. “Okay. No problem. I’ll get you some ice.” She starts to walk away, but I reach for her and pull her to me.

“Do you want to go to my place and keep me company while I pack?”

“You’re going to stay?”

“Yeah. I planned on it. I just got a little sidetracked this morning.”

She bites a smile.

“Do you want to come with me?”

“Sure. Let’s ice your legs first.”

“I’m fine.”

“I thought we established last night you shouldn’t say you’re fine when you aren’t.”

I look behind me to make sure we’re still alone. “Hmm. That’s interesting. I remember establishing some different things last night.”

“Like what?”

I dip down and kiss the curve of her neck. “I think you liked this.”

Her chest rises.

“And this...” I lick behind her ear.

She shudders.

I pull back and raise my eyebrows.

“Well, Steven Sinclair, I do believe you’re cocky.”

“I also had a really great time with you.”

Her face lights up. “You did?”

“Yeah.”

“I did, too.”

“Good.”

She steps back. “Let’s ice your legs. I’m not crawling on the ground with Hope all week by myself.”

She has a point.

“All right. I’ll cave.”

“Steven, there you are,” my mother’s voice comes from behind me.

I close my eyes and try to remain calm. Another day in paradise.
