Page 138 of Wrapped in Perfection

Boris's face falls. "I want him dead, Maksim. And he needs to see my wrath."

"He will. For everyone's safety, Nora, Anna, us, and the O'Malleys, I need your head back in the game. No past, no future. We cannot make old mistakes. Patience is what I need from you."

Boris scowls.

"We're in this together. Do not jump the gun. We wait for Obrecht. He will not let us down. Then you can execute with perfection, which is what you do," I back Maksim up.

Sergey pats Boris's shoulders. "Listen to the old, wise ones."

I slap Sergey's head.

"Ouch."

"You better watch those old comments."

Boris lays down on the bench. "Fine. I will give it a few more days. But I will not wait forever."

I step behind him to spot. "Have you thought about the beating Killian is going to give you?"

Boris grunts and lifts the bar off the rack. "It's a good thing I fought him before he found out. I barely took him out that last fight."

We all get into our workout and shower when we're through. We agree to wait until Obrecht gives us information on Lorenzo. I'm walking out of the gym when Viktor calls.

"Morning."

"We've got a problem."

I freeze with my hand on the door. My stomach flips. "What's that?"

"We just got a package delivered."

I lock eyes with Maksim. "What kind of package?"

"Expensive white box. Pink, fancy ribbon. The delivery guy at the front desk demanded Anna sign for it."

"Anna?"

"Yes. Peter attempted to. Even said she was sleeping, but he insisted she had to sign."

My chest tightens. "You didn't let him or the box anywhere near her, did you?"

"No. But, Dmitri, he said he would be back."

"Tell security he's not to come anywhere near the building," I order.

"Peter is already talking with them."

"Does Anna know anything about this?"

"No."

"Good. Don't tell her. I don't want her to worry. I'm on my way home. Do not let her go anywhere."

"We won't."

I hang up. "That mother—"

"What is it?" Boris asks.
