Someone blares on their horn, and she jumps. I pull my hand out. "On second thought, I don't want any distractions when I make you come." I open the door and step out then reach in for her. "Come on, my kotik." I pull her out and into my arms.
"Dmitri..."
As much as I don't want her stressed, she is. I slide my hands in her hair. "Do you want me to make your brother believe I'm not interested in you?" My jaw twitches.
She murmurs, "You seem upset at the thought."
Give her whatever she needs.
"I'm not into hiding. But if this is what you want, I'll do it. So I'll ask you one last time, do you want me to lie to your brother about us?"
She surprises me and slowly shakes her head. "No."
"That's good, kotik." I kiss her, and she kisses me back until my dick is aching again.
"But don't kiss me in front of my brother today."
I brush my lips on hers. "Understood." I take her hand, and we go inside. The penthouse is quiet, and she leads me to her suite, which is the size of an apartment.
Like my place, the penthouse has impressive Lake Michigan views but is decorated in a coastal design.
"Did you design this?" I ask.
"No. It was coastal when they bought it."
"It's nice. Different for the area."
"Yes." She points to a couch. "Have a seat. I'll hurry."
Why is she always worried about rushing?
"No need to hurry, kotik. Take your time." I walk to the window. It's a typical windy, fall day in Chicago. The white caps are rather large. Daylight is fading, and in a few hours, it'll be dark.
"Anna, are you—"
I spin.
Chase stands in the doorway. He folds his arms and furrows his eyebrows. "Dmitri. Where's Anna?"
"Packing."
His eyes turn to slits. "For what?"
"My place."
He doesn't move and continues staring at me. His voice is low when he finally asks, "Why is she packing for your place?"
"Two reasons. We're on a deadline. She's going to be working long hours to get me out of the jam my other designer put me in."
"And the second?"
My heart beats faster. "I like her. She likes me. We're together."
His face hardens. "Together?"
"Yes. I think you can figure out what that means."
"She just got out of a relationship."
