Page 134 of Fake Love

Jen has become my healthiest addiction. My healthiest drug choice and I will never give her up. I will never let her walk away because of my choice.

I will hold this woman for as long as she will let me.

She holds every part of me.

“I love you,” she tells me, leaning her forehead against mine.

“I love you too.” I tell her, our breath coming together. “So damn much.”

And I will, forever.

EPILOGUE

Jennifer

“C’mon, Jacobi! You’re skating like a grandma! Get out that stick you have in your ass and play like you’re damn professional!”

The blonde hair girl that’s three seats over yells at the glass separating us from the ice as some of the players skate by.

And here I thought Selena was intense, this girl takes it to a whole other level.

Selena, Hunter, Maddox and I are currently in Chicago at a Chicago Dark Knights game cheering on Hunter’s brother, Blake.

It's his second year in the NHL after being called up last year. According to Maddox, Blake is still a rookie but he sure is going somewhere. Whatever that means coming from a baseball player.

And the blonde haired girl pressing her face against the glass? Just so happens to be Blake’s best friend, Sophia, and the girl looks like his biggest fan.

Kind of reminds me and Selena at football and baseball games.

“Are they really just best friends?” I whisper over to Selena, who is sitting next to me as we watch the game.

Selena gives me a shrug. “I’ve asked the same question. They both say they are but there’s definitely something there.”

Happy to see that I’m not the only one that sees that even with a plexiglass wall separating them, there's this weird chemistry flowing through them.

I watch as hockey players skate by all fighting for the puck and when the horn sounds in the Dark Knights favor, Blake skates by where we’re sitting.

He stops right in front of us, or should I say right in front of Sophia and gives her a wink before blowing her a kiss.

The whole arena saw it, dude even makes it onto the Jumbotron. Instead of basking in the attention of a professional hockey player, Sophia rolls her eyes and fake gags.

Damn.

Maybe both Selena and I are wrong and there’s nothing going on between them. Or maybe Sophia is laying it on thick so nobody will notice their attraction.

I’m going to go with the latter.

“Imagine the field day people would have if I do that to you.” I whisper to Maddox, as I lean into his side.

He has his arm thrown on the back of my seat and a baseball hat pulled low on his face.

“People had a field day the one day you didn’t wear my jersey number.”

That’s true. I was trending for a solid three hours because of my outfit choices.

He gives me a lazy smile, the very same one that makes my lady bits tingle.
