When the game ends, Hunter guides us through the area to the players section to grab Blake so we can head to dinner.

The amount of fans that are outside the locker room area waiting for the players is crazy.

I’ve seen fans waiting at both football and baseball games but these hockey fans are a whole other level.

“Damn. Is it always like this?” I ask Maddox as a few people scream when the first player comes out.

“I guess, hockey was never my thing,” he says, bringing his hat down a bit more.

Ever since his time won the world series, he’s been getting recognized more every day. For the most part, he’s okay with it, but there are times, like right now, that he would rather just go through life as a normal person.

I don’t blame him. Half the time I wonder if I should be wearing a hat too just to be on the safe side.

A few more players come trickling out and as we continue to wait for Blake, someone calls out Maddox’s name.

Looking up, I see that it was one of the Chicago Dark Knights players and he’s walking in our direction.

The guy is in a white button up and wearing a black suit, not showing much skin but the skin that is showing, is covered in tattoos.

So many tattoos.

God, that had that to be so painful. Especially on his fingers.

“I heard you were back in the city. Had me wondering when I will run into you.” The guy smiles over at Maddox, before extending a hand when he closes the distance.

“Actually surprised it hasn’t happened sooner.” Maddox answers by taking his hand and I watch as they give each other one of those bro hugs.

“This your girl?” the guy asks when they pull apart.

Maddox smiles down at me before wrapping his arm around my waist, bringing me closer to him. “Yup. Jen, this is Liam. He’s the Dark Knights captain. We were at Notre Dame together. Liam, this is Jen.”

“It’s nice to meet you,” Liam says, holding out a hand.

I take it, trying my hardest not to comment on his tattoos. “Yeah, it’s nice to meet you too.”

“Want to join us for dinner?” Maddox offers, “We’re just waiting on Blake.”

Liam shakes his head. “Would love to, man, but I have this dinner for one of my endorsements. I’ll catch you next time you’re in town.”

“Sounds good.” With another bro hug, Liam is on his way.

After Blake comes out, we head out to dinner and surprisingly it’s an uneventful one.

You would think that having three professional athletes with you, everything would be crazy, but it wasn’t. It’s one of the most mellow dinners I think I’ve had in a while.

Maddox and I get home sometime before midnight and the second that the door closes behind us, I jump into his arms wrapping my arms and legs around him.

“Hey,” I say, running my fingers through his hair.

“Hi,” he responds, a smirk on his face and his hands on my ass.

“I think we made a deal to recreate our first night together.” I give his hair strands a good tug before bringing our faces closer together.

“I think you’re right. Refresh my memory, did we start on the couch or the bed that night?”

The smirk he gives me right before he leans forward and places his lips against my neck tells me he remembers exactly what it was.

“Bed. Definitely bed. But trust me you will be bending over the back of the couch tonight.”
