After a minute, he speaks. “I shouldn’t be doing this.”
I want to let out a gasp at his statement, but I’m able to keep it in. “Why? Are you married?”
Please, don’t let this man be married.
I’ve done a lot of things in my short life, but I draw the line at sleeping with a married person.
His eyes open and if his hands weren't on my body, I would have fallen at the intensity that is coming out of them.
Their hazel but it is as if it's the ocean staring back at me right before sunset. The blues, the greens and the browns are all coming together to make the perfect combination of Maddox’s eyes.
“I’m not married.” He states, his mouth dancing around the three words.
“Then why shouldn’t you be doing this?” I ask, my hands going up to his hair and sliding their way through his long strands.
“Because I just got out of something where they tell you that you shouldn’t jump into anything until at least a year has passed.”
I’m guessing he just got out of a long-term relationship. It must have just ended, otherwise he wouldn’t be debating being here with me.
“Its just one night.” I say, giving his hair a slight tug. “One night and that’s it. Tomorrow we can forget about it.”
His eyes grow more intense and his fingertips dig deeper into my skin.
“And if I don’t want to forget about it?” He asks, his voice almost a growl.
“Then you don’t, and I get to live in your mind for however long you want me there.”
Forever, have me there forever.
Heavy words for a one-night stand.
Maddox continues to look down at me as if he’s trying to figure me out.
“Are you sure? One night with a complete stranger?”
I want more than one night with this man, but no way am I going to tell him that.
“I’m absolutely, one hundred percent, sure.”
The last word barely leaves my lips before they are encapsulated with his.
His mouth is hungry, and I can’t help but to fall deeper into his hold and fall in lust with the feeling of his face stubble against my skin.
Our mouths dance together and when I feel his tongue slide against the skin of my lower lip, a whimper escapes.
It might have been from me or him, I don’t know. I don’t know where he starts, and I end.
We’re just kissing, and I already have a feeling that this is going to be an unforgettable night.
“Bed or couch?” Maddox mutters against my lips, not pulling back in the slightest.
As much as I want him to do delicious things to my body right here, my bed would be the better option. Especially given the height difference between us.
I can only be on my tiptoes for so long.
“Bed.” I say, moving my mouth off his and gliding it down to his jaw and to his neck.
Maddox’s hands move to settle against my hips, and he lifts me up until my legs are wrapped around his waist before he starts walking.
