Page 96 of Fake Love

One of her favorite phrases, good girl.

The shit that happens to her body when I say that.

“Promise?” she asks, her head landing on my shoulder and her turning to me giving me sex filled eyes.

Not being able to resist myself, I lean in and give her the kiss that she wanted back upstairs.

We stay connected like this for what feels like a few minutes before I break us apart.

Jen opens her eyes and there is so much need in them that for a split second I want to say fuck everything and take her back up stairs.

But I don’t because I have plans.

Jen finally lets out a sigh when she realizes that the only thing that we are doing is getting in the car.

“Fine,” she huffs, sliding into the passenger seat. “Take me wherever you're so damn determined to get to.

I made a good choice.

A spectacular one at that given the look on Jen’s face right now.

With the help from Aaron and his wife, I was able to make a few calls and close down the San Francisco aquarium for a private event.

The event?

Me and Jen finally having our first real date as a couple.

We had our first fake date here. Why not have our real one? And because of the damn playing schedule, I was finally able to do it.

All the stops were pulled out for this. The cater, the venue, everything down to the exhibit. I needed everything to be perfect.

And I would say that I achieved that.

We ate the dinner I had catered from the highest rated Italian restaurant in the city in front of the Jellyfish. We had dessert in the coral reef exhibit. Now we are laying on a blanket on the floor of the deep sea exhibit, watching all the sea creatures swim by.

Fuck, I’m a damn good boyfriend.

“I still can’t believe that you rented out the whole place.” She says, looking up at me from where her head lays on my shoulder.

The lights of the exhibit make her eyes sparkle.

Not only am I a good boyfriend, but now I’m using the word sparkle. I’ve become soft because of this woman and I think I’m okay with that.

“Believe it. I would do anything to see you smile like when we walked in. That image is engraved in my head.”

She was near tears when she figured out what I had done. For a solid minute or two, she didn’t say a word. She just took in every little detail.

When her trace finally broke, she jumped into my arms and if we didn’t have the place to ourselves, we for sure would have been kicked out.

“No one has ever done something this romantic for me. Thank you,” Jen leans up and places a kiss on lips.

“You’re welcome.” I say, putting way more effort than necessary into the kiss.

When we come up for air, Jen starts to tell me about every animal that's in the take.

The way she tells me about the sea creatures, I start thinking about where I would be right now if Ben hadn’t pulled me into his office and told me I needed to show I’m worthy. If he hadn’t suggested that I find someone to help with my social media or to find a fake girlfriend.
