“My, what a crime,” Greg said, laughing.

“Look, I can do this. I’m capable of holding my temper.”

“Evidence to support this statement has yet to be found.”

“Well, keep your eyes on me then, asshole,” Flash snapped. “And I’ll show you.”

He’d been watching the screen as Greg added him to the list of employees, paying vague attention, so he got an idea of how many people worked on the site and what their jobs were. When a name he recognized flickered on the screen, he reached over Greg’s shoulder and slapped the keyboard.

“Hey, what the fuck?” Greg cried.

“My sentiments exactly,” Flash muttered. He brought one hand slowly up to the screen and tapped it.

“Jenny Reynolds,” he whispered.

“Slade’s sister?” exclaimed Greg. Flash nodded slowly.

“What the fuck is Slade’s kid sister doing on the construction crew?” Flash muttered. This complicated things badly. Not only did they have one more person to look out for, but now it might be Slade that completely lost his shit and blew their cover, all to protect his baby sister.

Chapter12

Cassandra

Gray dawn light leaked into the room as Cassandra woke. She blinked slowly, wondering where she was. As she rolled over and felt Slade’s warm body beside her, everything came back to her in a rush of sensory memory.

Slade. What the hell got into me last night?

He did, obviously.

Cass rolled over, turning away from him. The bed was soft, the sheets deliciously slick against her skin. She was so comfortable that she wanted to stretch out and sleep for another few hours.

Preferably while slowly fucking him in between naps.

As she listened to Slade’s steady breathing, anxiety grew within her. Cassandra tried to come to grips with her own strange behavior, and all she could feel was an enduring sense of comfort and safety.

She waited for shame and regret to replace it. A horrific wave of embarrassment that would spur her out of this bed and send her running from him as fast as she could.

But it didn’t come, even though she lay there until the gray light turned golden. As a rule, she did not have casual sex. She had never once in her life jumped into bed with a random guy. Surely, this was wrong, and it was only a matter of time before her emotions caught up and punished her for her moment of weakness.

Slowly, she turned over again. Warmth flooded her chest as she looked at Slade’s sleeping face. She felt intense contentment and familiarity, not shame or regret. She didn’t know how or why, but meeting these guys was not random, not at all.

It felt like it was meant to be, and that scared her even more. The only thing that stopped her from getting up and fleeing the bed was the sense she belonged here, right beside him.

With Flash on the other side of me.

Cass shivered with pleasure. If she’d never had sex with a random dude before, she certainly had never fucked two at the same time. She expected to be shocked by the very idea, but to her surprise, the only thing she felt was intense unbelievable lust.

The image of both of them wrapped around her, kissing her, touching her, pleasuring her, excited her so much that she writhed, pressing her thighs together. She was slick as the images swirled through her mind, making her gasp with desire.

Her body was sore in all the best places, and as she began to ache and throb, the pangs from last night’s vigorous exertions turned into a deep, ravenous craving.

Cassandra gulped, taking a deep breath and holding it as she tried to calm herself. Her mind might be in conflict, but her heart and body had already decided. She wanted them ... both of them ... maybe more than she had ever wanted anything in her entire life.

She sat up quickly, looking for her clothes. There were things to do, and she had to put this aside, at least for now.

As she pulled the sheets down and swung her legs to the floor, Slade muttered and reached out for her. His fingertips grazed her back as she stood and took two steps away from the bed.

“Good morning,” he said.
