Spencer laughs. “Dude. You couldn’t get a classy hot girl if you tried.”
“Fuck off. You’re my girl, right?” Dempsey asks, grinning at me.
“We’re friends,” I remind him.
“She friendzoned you, man,” Spencer says gleefully. “That whole punk vibe doesn’t do it for the entire female population. Some girls like a good guy.”
“Good?” Dempsey snorts. “You’re a Park. No one in our family is good.”
“Can I walk you to class?” Spencer asks, layering on his charm. “I’d be happy to.”
“Get lost, cuz. I saw her first.”
“I’m not some toy to fight over,” I say, scowling at Dempsey. “But you both could walk me if you want.”
The guys seem perfectly satisfied with that, falling into step on either side of me as we head inside. Spencer, the apparentgentleman of the two, steps ahead to open the door for me. I flash him a thankful smile. Walking into school with two of the most popular guys earns me a lot of confused looks and whispers. If only they knew who came to my house last night. Who kissed me until I was dizzy and then rubbed me until I came.
“I’m having a party Friday night at Park Mountain Lodge,” Spencer says. “You should come.”
Did I seriously just get invited to a party?
This never happens.
Ever.
“I’m not sure I can. My stepdad probably won’t let me.”
Spencer waggles his brows at me. “We’ll sneak you out. Here, put your number in my phone. Demps and I will pick you up.”
I stop to take his phone. I’m not exactly sure if this is a good idea, but the prospect of having friends is exciting. Plus, if they’re Callum’s family, they’ve got to be cool to hang with. After I plug in my number, he flashes me a satisfied grin.
“Spencer,” a deep voice booms in the hallway. “My classroom now.”
Spencer grimaces. “My uncle is such a dick.”
“Technically, I’m your uncle too,” Dempsey offers.
“Whatever, cuz,” Spencer grumbles. “See you around, speedy.”
I give him a little wave before sneaking a glance at Callum. He’s pretending to look unaffected by my presence, but I don’t miss the way his gaze sweeps over my entire body or the way he runs his tongue over his bottom lip.
“Spencer isn’t your cousin?” I ask once we start walking again.
Dempsey laughs. “I’m younger than Spence, but still his uncle. My dad had me and Gemma late in life.”
I have a million questions, most of them revolving around Callum, but I manage to keep them bottled up.
“I’m not supposed to be hanging out with you.” I frown at him. “I’ve been banned.”
Dempsey raises a brow. “Because of Levi?”
“Technically, yes. We can thank him for tattling. My stepdad says I’m not allowed to.”
“Your stepdad sounds like a dick.”
“He is,” I agree. “Our fake dating made its way back to him and he’s pissed.”
“Because he thinks I’ll defile his little girl?”
