“That’s where you were, right? Because you weren’t at the library like you claim. I went back to see and you were gone.”
“It’s not my fault if you don’t know how to navigate a library. I was there.”
“Liar.”
“I don’t know what you want me to say,” I hiss, yanking underwear and pajamas from my drawer. “I was there.”
Since he won’t leave, I storm to the bathroom to dress in peace. I don’t get the door closed before he’s muscling his way inside. He grabs hold of my jaw and pushes me against the cabinet door. I cry out in surprise.
“You weren’t.” He cocks his head to the side. “Was it Dempsey or Spencer? Or both?”
“Fuck you.”
He pushes his knee between my thighs and brings his nose to mine. “You can lie all you want, but I know you weren’t there.”
Fear has my voice locked up and tears burning in my eyes. I was careless in thinking I was alone. Levi is always lurking nearby. I should have known better.
“I’m going to find out which one,” Levi says, eyes narrowing. “Either way, you’re fucked when Dad finds out.”
“There’s nothing to find out.”
“I’m not an idiot, Willa. I know they invited you to their party.”
“I’m not going.”
“I’ll believe that when I see it.”
Lifting my chin, I meet his stare. “I’m not. I have a friend staying over.”
His brow lifts. “You don’t have friends, aside from the ones you’re fucking.”
“Gemma.” I blurt it out before I can stop myself. “Gemma is staying over.”
Crap. So much for keeping it a secret.
He gapes at me, and for a moment, I’m awarded a high for catching him off guard. It only lasts a second before his lips curl into a sinister smile. “Dad is going to flip his shit.”
“What? Why?”
“You really are clueless,” he says in a mocking tone. “She’s still a Park. I wouldn’t let Dad know which family she comes from if I were you. You’re already on his shit list.”
“What’s up with this lawsuit anyway?”
“Dad’s representing someone suing Theo Park. Something to do with Park Mountain Lodge. I don’t know the details, but he’s going to be pissed if you bring one of them into this house. It could jeopardize his case. Conflict of interest and all that.”
“Might as well tattle on me now,” I spit out.
“Tattle?” He laughs. “Nah, I like having this information to hold against you. Who knows what I could make you do in exchange for my silence?”
“Are you done being an asshole? I’d like to shower. Again. Because you disgust me.”
He steps back but doesn’t release my jaw. Almost like a lover would do, he caresses my bottom lip with his thumb. I’m inclined to bite it, but I’m not looking to get rabies since he’s a vile dog.
“I have my eye on you, little sis. Always.”
“I’m not your sister and go fuck yourself.”
His grin is wolfish. “I will go fuck myself. Maybe I’ll go watch one of the videos where I had my fingers in you as you slept. That never ceases to get me hard.”
