Fuck, I could come from just that, but I do as she says. I drive my fangs into the same place, letting the numbing agent flood her and careful not to drink too much.

It's like my fantasy is coming true as I drive into her, her body climaxing around me as I drink her. It's unlike anything I've ever known, and when I finally finish, I collapse next to her.

She's asleep in an instant, and I know I've overwhelmed her body. But she's drained me, too, and I pull her against me as my own restful state claims me.

The first thing that registers with me when I wake is how sore my neck is, and I love it. Without opening my eyes, I reach up to touch it, loving the way that I can feel what Raziel has done to me even after. I can't find the holes, and I realize that they must have already healed. It seems too fast, though, but I try not to overthink it too much.

But when I open my eyes, finding myself pressed to his chest, I am more shocked by how healthy he looks. All of his wounds and burns are gone, and his skin is stitched together perfectly.

I trail my fingers across his body, and a smug grin finds me. I did this to him. I am like his medicine, and I healed him when he looked to be beyond repair.

As I look at his sleeping form, his wings draped on the floor behind him, I am more certain than ever he is my guardian angel. He's been there around every turn, and now I see how I am just as important for him as he is for me. We save each other.

And the way that we made love… I never knew I could feel that way. It was pure ecstasy as he drank from me, absolute euphoria pouring through my veins as he pounded me. I've had orgasms before, but he brought me to the edge over and over until it felt like my entire worldview had been shattered.

I've never been around someone who cares this much about me. He made me feel amazing and he protects me so fiercely. He's more than I could have hoped for.

And I am pretty sure that I am falling in love with him because of it.

I decided while he was gone that I did believe him. I believe his history and everything he said about the vrakken. They must be a race of protectors, and I want to see more, learn more. I'm interested in everything about him, and I am hoping he will let me in.

My fingers are still tracing along his skin, marveling at the hard muscles underneath there, when his eyes pop open. They are dazzling brown, which was hard to make out before in the very back of the cave, but with the brilliant day outside, I can tell better now.

I only have a moment to stare at them before his arm tightens around my waist and he crushes me forward. His fingers slip behind my head, and heat wraps around my core when I think he's going to bite me again.

He brings my lips to his, though, and that, too, is head spinning and delicious. He kisses me fiercely, like he's still trying to drink me in, but he slowly eases off until it is a soft, slow kiss that I am sad to see break.

My arms wind up to wrap around him, and I am about to bring him back down to me when my stomach audibly growls. I had nearly forgotten I hadn't eaten in over a day.

Raziel laughs, kissing the tip of my nose before untangling himself from me. "I'll be right back," he whispers, rolling away from me.

He stands up, stretching out his glorious body, and then I realize that he is headed right for the mouth of the cave stark naked. It's broad daylight, and fear grips me as he approaches the first rays leaking into the cave.

"Raziel!" I shriek, and he whips around, his eyes assessing my face.

He crouches down, shifting so that he can look at the mouth of the cave. "What?"

"You can't go out there!" I gasp out, tripping up to my feet to stop him. "You'll get hurt!"

At this, he tips his head back with another bout of laughter. "Selene, I promise I am going to be okay."

"But before, when you came back–"

"I had been too weak to glamour. When I told you I couldn't be out in the sun, I didn't tell you I can glamour for a few hours when I'm at my full strength." He stands, stretching out for me to see his muscles rippling. "And, darling, I've never felt better." He gives me a wink that hits me hard before strolling out into the sunlight.

I sit on the floor of the cave with my arms wrapped around my knees as I stare after him. I'm terrified of what is going to happen to him out there, but to my surprise, he's back in a matter of minutes.

He lays out a spread of breads, dried fruits and meats, and a canteen of drinkable water before me. He also places a stack of relatively clean clothes before me, though they look way too big for me. I'm pretty sure they are hunter's garb, and when I raise my eyebrows at the splattered blood on the fabric, Raziel gives me a meek smile.

"I picked the cleanest option," he says, with a shrug, and I decide not to press on that.

I inhale the dried meats and fruits, and as I'm picking at the bread, my skin warm under Raziel's gaze, I take a chance. "Will you eat with me?" I ask in a soft voice. While my belly is full, my appetite for something else is only growing.

He cocks his head, looking down at the bread in my hands before looking back up to me. "I thought you knew…" he mutters before clearing his throat and trying again. "Um, Selene, it's just that food like that, like what you and the dark elves eat, isn't exactly appetizing–"
