Hey Handsome,
Delilah had her baby!
Oh, my goodness, Armadillo was over the moon! I can almost imagine you would strut around like that cowboy. LOL! You would think she was barely there or had nothing to do with it. He was walking around, holding the baby, talking about how proud he was… and Delilah was sitting there grinning.
Luke is not a fan of being a big brother. Poor tyke is a little jealous! Luke and ‘Toady’ (that’s what he calls Armadillo because Cody is his first name and Luke can’t say it) are going to have playdates together, just the boys… and I thought that was so sweet.
Thank you for the suggestion about visiting Marisol and Valkyrie. I got to feed Toby today and ohhh my goodness. He’s so beautiful and sweet! I wish I had taken a picture to send you, but my stars! He was giving me these sweet smiles and had milk dribbling out of his mouth as he looked up at me with the biggest blue eyes.
I was melting.
But you know what would be ten times better?
Big, brown, chocolate eyes - like yours…
*sigh*
I love your eyes and the way you look at me. I think about you all the time and treasure our memories. Last night, I actually sprayed cologne on your pillow and laid there picturing you.
I imagined that you were right there, lying beside me, just watching me in the still of the night. It felt so real, like I could reach out and touch you, and those memories keep me going so the loneliness doesn’t hurt quite so much.
So, on Sundays, I am going to Marisol and Valkyrie’s for dinner from here on out until you come home – and I am having everyone over on Wednesdays to break up my week.
I need the company and didn’t realize how lonely I was until today.
Thank you again.
I love you,
Sophie

Hey Sweet Wife,
Four months in the books – happy five-month anniversary!
I can’t believe you have been able to put up with me for this long and I’m really glad time is starting to fly by. We’ve been going out quite a bit on missions and some days are slow, while others all crowd together.
I’m glad some of the other airmen were able to come out and help at Flyboys – I meant to ask if you had a chance to meet them? Your mentioning about Sundays and Wednesday dinners reminded me…
How is everyone?
I miss being with the team and I know that sounds silly because I’m surrounded by the new team members here. Of our original crew, we have only a few left… but these guys coming in are really something. I don’t think I was ever that cocky, naïve, or brash – either that or I’m getting old.
Don’t answer that.
They’ve got the dumbest, most placid call signs ever. I mean, I thought some of ours were silly, and a call sign is supposed to incite fear in your enemy’s heart (cough, cough – like Reaper?) but these dorks…
What were they thinking?
X-Ray… I get that one.
Houdini… I’ve seen him fly – I get this one, too.
Ghost – That’s too darn close to my own nickname. Silly copycat.
