At least, that was what I told the women when they hinted at going into town and having a few drinks together.

“Sorry, ladies. I’m meeting up with an old friend soon. Maybe next time,” I offered when their smiles turned to disappointment. Not totally an empty promise. I wouldn’t mind spending some more time with them. Maybe take them back to my room for a threesome. But not tonight.

I was waiting on a call from Mihailo to let me know they’d arrived. We’d planned to meet up in the morning to get rid of Dominik, easy peasy. We’d disposed of enough bodies to make the effort quick and easily done. Within an hour of dawn, Dominik’s body would be sinking to the bottom of the ocean.

Waiting for the elevator took forever, and I hoped the women wouldn’t come back and beg me to go out. Not that I was so conceited as to believe they would, but it wouldn’t be the first time it happened. Fortunately, I wasn’t disturbed the entire walk back.

After a quick shower to wash away the blood, I put on one of my expensive Italian suits and waited on my confirmation from Mihailo. When he gave me the okay that everything would be taken care of, I headed downstairs, stopping by to speak with the concierge.

“Excuse me, where would a guy get a drink around here that isn’t too far?” I didn’t particularly want to travel. I only wanted to have a few drinks to wash away the exhaustion from today and head to my room to sleep it off.

“There are two bars nearby. One is for the younger crowd and the other is a pub that older men tend to enjoy.”

Do I look old?I wanted to scold the concierge, but instead gave him 20 euros and asked him more about the bar for the younger crowd. Hopefully, it wasn’t too crazy, but I didn’t want to be stuck with some old geezers, either.

“It’s the bar on the beach, outside the hotel. Mostly people drink and dance, order some food for the table. It’s a lot of fun.”

I nodded, thanked the man, and headed to the bar—a modern, beachy joint with music to match. Not too shabby. And fortunately, not too crowded, either. One couple stood from their table to dance. Both were wearing rings… must be married. A group of men, younger men in their twenties, sat at another table, clearly drunk based on their boisterous behavior.

My eyes scanned over to the bar where I saw her sitting. Willow. She caught me staring and I gave her a nod, finding a table to sit at. She didn’t seem thrilled to see me there, so I didn’t bother to sit at the stool next to her.

Where was her boyfriend—no,fiancé.

Looking around the bar, I searched for him, and found him outside, dancing with another man. Awful handsy dance moves for a man who’s engaged to the woman at the bar.

Damn. I knew she was lying.

I was half tempted to approach her about it, but she looked so… pensive. Sad. The last thing she needed was a man she clearly couldn’t stand to bother her more. Instead, I brought my gaze to the waitress that walked up to my table.

“What’s your poison?” she asked. A young woman, fresh out of college—or so she looked. Her hip was cocked to the side and she had enough attitude to combat the pissy waitress at the bar in Moscow my brothers frequented.Ah, Valentina. What a bitch she could be.

“What do you have?” I asked.

She noticed my accent and made a joke that I’d be having vodka, which was probably the last thing I wanted to drink. Instead, I told her to bring me their most popular drink. Let’s see what the people of Greece like to sip on.

She disappeared, leaving me to look about the room. My eyes kept going back to Willow, lingering, even when I tried to avert my gaze. But I kept coming back to her.

A man from the loud group of guys sitting at a table excused himself. No doubt, he was the leader. He muttered something I couldn’t make out, but gestured to Willow. The other guys laughed and cheered him on as he strutted over to her, taking a seat in the stool beside her.

Fool. Can’t he read the signs? She’s sad. She doesn’t want you hitting on her!

They engaged in conversation, and she smiled politely, though she appeared to be uncomfortable. Of course, the guy was too drunk and his ego was too big to take the hint. After a few minutes she turned away. He stood, getting right behind her, and grabbed her.

Without thought, I stood from my chair, ready to pounce on the guy. Willow smacked him hard enough that even I could hear the slap over the music. What I did hear was his friends cackling as he called her a bitch and raised his arm to swing it at her.

“Another round,” Viktor called out, scooting closer to his new love interest—a gorgeous Grecian man named Giorgios.

We’d been drinking at an outdoor bar on the beach for the last few hours. Wanting to save money on the cab fare, we opted for the bar outside the hotel.

After the first fifteen minutes of arriving, Viktor met Giorgios, who had been hanging out with us ever since. He wasn’t much older than us, and he was very down to earth, yet confident and exciting. Something in his demeanor made everything feel more thrilling.

When he first walked over, I was ready to shoo him away. But when I saw him flirting with Viktor, I knew he wasn’t coming over for me. I was both relieved and excited for my bestie. They really hit it off, and Giorgios seemed to be Viktor’s type to perfection.

We were taking our third round of shots—well, third round that hour—when Giorgios invited us to his house after we finished with our bar endeavors. I wasn’t really in the mood to go, plus I could tell by Viktor’s pleading look that he wanted to spend some alone time with Giorgios.
