Willow
In our underwear? Was he insane?
“There’s no way I’m strolling through that lobby in my undergarments,” I said, my hand gripped around my dress, swinging it around.
He shrugged. “You can either wear your dress and ruin the fabric, or we go in our underwear and sneak back up to my room.”
So nonchalant, as if he didn’t care either way. He probably didn’t, but look at what he was wearing compared to me. His boxers could almost pass for swim shorts. My lingerie would make me look like a hooker!
I chewed my bottom lip, debating my options. No way in hell did I want to walk through the lobby for everyone to see me in my lacy garments, with my nipples poking out from the cold air.My arms covered my chest just thinking about it.
Sighing, I asked, “Any idea how to sneak in?”
He chuckled, pointing to the building. “You see that door at the back? That’s the side entrance with the stairs. They shouldn’t lock that door for another…” he trailed off, looking at the sky and then back to the building. “Two hours, give or take.”
Did he just tell time by the moon? Damn, he’s good.
“Okay, so what? We take those stairs the whole way up and hope no one sees us?”
“Got a better idea?”
Huffing in disappointment, I mumbled, “No.”
He shook his head and let out a laugh, one that was too light for the severity of the situation. Turning around, he crouched down. “Hop on. I’ll get us back quicker.” Declining at first, he insisted. “It’ll be warmer, and all you need to do is whisper sweet nothings in my ear about warm showers and plushy towels.”
I giggled, agreeing only because the heat from his body sounded like a godsend in that moment. “Alright, but no funny stuff, Mister.”
Climbing onto his back, he hooked his arms around my legs to steady me. “Oh, you mean like making out in the sea?”
My cheeks flushed and I was grateful he wasn’t facing me in that moment. Though, something told me he knew, like he could feel the heat radiating from my face.
Where did that kiss come from? No idea. But being in his arms, floating in the warm water under the moonlight… I don’t know, it was romantic. I felt a spark that I’d never felt with Rolan, and would certainly never feel with Dominik. I had to force that thought away. No way would I allow him or my father to ruin this near-perfect night.
He jogged across the sand and to the backdoor of the hotel as I carried our clothing. Fortunately, it was shrouded in darkness and the door was only partially visible. Letting me down, he grabbed the door handle, trying to turn it, but it wouldn’t budge.
“I thought you said it would be unlocked,” I yelled in a whisper.
He glanced around the side of the building to the employee parking. “Shit. Tobias isn’t here tonight. The other staff must’ve locked it earlier.”
“You know what he drives?” I asked, surprised that he kept up with the staff so well.
He glanced back, a devious look in his eyes. “I’m very observant of my surroundings.”
“Now what?” I asked, clutching my arms to keep as much warmth against my body as possible.
Ivan glanced around, in deep thought, and snapped his fingers as if a lightbulb went off. “The pool.”
We crept around the building, staying in the shadows—though, I’m pretty sure he would’ve been just as comfortable walking through the front door. Not me. Nope, this body is not on display.
Nearly reaching the door, a man came around the corner with a drink in his hand and a woman on his arm. Flirtatiously giggling, she swatted his arm and they climbed into the hot tub.
I stepped closer to the wall, hiding myself from their sight. I hadn’t realized that when I stepped away from them, I was pushing myself closer to Ivan, and our bodies were pressed together against the building.
The flame between us flickered to life once more, and I could feel the heat pooling deep in my belly, throbbing between my legs as I felt his hard chest against mine. And that wasn’t the only thing that was getting hard, making the ache within me only grow.
When the man stepped out of the hot tub, Ivan’s arms wrapped around my back, pulling me closer. He swung me around so my back was against the building, and his arms were on either side of me against the wall, shielding me.
He brushed my hair from my shoulder, bringing his lips close to my ears. The heat from his breath tickled the nape of my neck, sending goosebumps to cover my skin.
