“Maybe,” he said, kissing each hand. “How about we take my jet out to San Marino? You know, the place you called more castle than people.”

I couldn’t hold back the grin that covered my face.He remembered.I figured he’d forget since we were just two drunks talking on the beach, but he didn’t. “I’m flattered you remembered.”

He brushed his fingers against my cheek, tucking my hair behind my ear. “Of course, I remembered. So, what do you say?”

I bit my lip, thinking about taking a private jet to an island that reeks of medieval culture. An afternoon with the man I’d just had amazing sex with. The man who I’d opened up to in one night more than I had with any of my friends. “I say, hell yeah.”

Ivan cast me a smile, flashing his gorgeous white teeth. “Great. How about we meet back in the lobby in two hours?”

I nodded, giggling at his smitten behavior, which wasdefinitelyunexpected. When I saw him yesterday with those two women stuck to him like cling wrap, I assumed he was a typical horndog male looking for an easy score. But last night, he proved to me he was so much more. He showed a side of himself that I don’t think too many people see. In that, we shared.

“Sure. Just let me change and meet up with Viktor. I need to check on him and let him know of our plans.”

Ivan gave me a quick peck and strolled away, turning back to shoot me one last dashing smile before he walked off with Mihailo to who knew where.

A private jet.I’m going to ride in a freaking private jet! This is too unreal.

I was beyond excited imagining an afternoon visiting castles and flying with Ivan. And with any luck, maybe we could have a repeat of last night.

Filled with too much excitement to hold, I immediately called Viktor to tell him we needed to meet up ASAP. to share some tea, and that this tea wasjuicy.

Despite my excitement, I couldn’t help but feel a little uneasy. Mihailo’s presence had affected me, and I couldn’t quite place why, but I was scared of him.

Hopefully, he wouldn’t be on our trip to San Marino. Though, something told me he would be.

“Mihailo, slow down,” I called out, trying to keep up pace with him as we walked to the yacht.

He halted his step, swiftly turning to face me. “You’re sleeping with the enemy,” he said, his tone resolute. A man of few words and this is what he said? Turning on his heel, he started walking again.

I jogged to catch up to him, and asked, “What are you talking about?” I laughed, not taking him seriously. Was he talking about Willow?

“Come. I’ll show you,” he said, not even slowing down in his steps.

“Mihailo, tell me at once what’s going on.”

“Just come. I’ll show you inside,” he said, finally reaching the yacht.

“No, you’ll tell me now,” I demanded, stopping in place and crossing my arms like a scolding parent.

Mihailo stopped abruptly, sharply turning to face me with a scowl on his face. “Fine. You want to know? That woman is working with the enemy.”

“What?” I said, laughing. It had to be a joke. He saw me cozied up with a woman and was teasing me about it. He had to be. “That’s nonsense! She wouldn’t do that.”

The look in his eyes was serious, and my smile dropped, realizing he wasn’t joking. “She would and she is.”

My jaw clenched and I shook my head. “You don’t know what you’re talking about”

Mihailo scoffed, raising his arms at his sides and dropping them. “You question me over this woman you barely know?”

“It’s not that I don’t believe you, Mihail, but I think you have the wrong person.” My voice was softer, a way to convince him that I believed in his effort, but the information was incorrect.

“I don’t.”

“You do.”
