Where am I?
That was the most important question. He couldn’t remember what had happened before the dream or how he ended up unconscious.
This definitely isn’t a hospital.
There were no sounds outside like he would expect for a hospital, and the room was slightly wrong, just a little too casual. Levi began to have a very bad feeling.
I’ve been captured!
Grimly, he went over the possibility that Lincoln had abducted him and trapped him in this room. It was a likely explanation, especially since Hannah wasn’t here. Surely, she would be right by his side if he was in a normal hospital or any other safe location.
I have to get out of here.
Levi looked around, not seeing anything he could use to get free. He assumed there were armed guards at the door, and it would be useless to try it. After another look around, he saw the window was open, just an inch.
With determination, he jumped out of bed, pulling off the cords. He knew he had to move quickly before guards charged in to stop him. It was only as he stumbled getting out of bed that he realized his body felt different.
He flexed his right arm in amazement. His bicep bulged with muscle, huge and hard. Astonished, Levi stopped in front of the small wall mirror, flexing both arms.
He shook his head lightly. He was taller, more muscular. The bones of his face had changed just a little. Even his jocks were way too tight.
What the hell happened to me?
Levi took a couple of steps back, trying to see all of his body at once. Before he could get a good look, he heard a noise outside the door.
He froze, knowing he had to go. Without thinking … or even checking if it was safe … he took two quick steps over to the window, flung it open, and dove out.
It was exhilarating to use his body this way … to leap and run and feel his muscles respond. As he fell toward a nearby roof, he felt a flicker of fear inside him.
There was no conscious thought, no moment of decision. Still, the knowledge that he was the tiger still lived within him, and suddenly his vision changed just like it had in his dream.
He landed on the roof, coming down in an easy crouch that didn’t hurt at all. When he cried out in triumph, the roar that came from his own mouth shocked him as much as it excited him.
I am the tiger!
Roaring once more to announce his supremacy to the world, Levi ran, intending to get as far from his captors as possible.
He was going to find Hannah, and nothing in this world could stop him now.

HANNAH
Hannah sat near the operating room the entire time, all of her muscles in her body clenched. She jiggled her leg up and down, trying to think positive, but the longer she had to wait, the worse her anxiety was.
The surgeons finished removing the bullet and brought Levi into the recovery room. They still wouldn’t let her in the room, with Nick claiming that she was too emotionally attached to stand around.
She paced around outside the waiting room, her loose clothing still covered in Levi’s blood.
“What the fuck does that even mean?” she yelled.
Nick was acting as a guard, holding his arms out like she was some kind of hysterical woman. She found it condescending and insulting.
“It means he needs time to recover,” Nick said. “You have to give him time, Hannah before we can ascertain what is going to happen to him.”
Hannah was starting to believe that the serum wasn’t a good idea. Had she acted too soon? Not thinking things through because she was afraid of losing her fated mate?
She stomped around in the hallway, found a garbage can, and kicked it with all of her might. The average person would have broken a few toes, hell, even their foot attempting that. But Hannah’s strength could destroy bones, so it was sent across the room and slammed into the wall closest to the elevator.
