“Levi, stop!”

Hannah let her wolf out, roaring to the point of breaking the sound barrier within the woods. Tree trunks swayed, branches snapped, and if he hadn’t been a shifter himself, his ears would have split apart.

Levi had a tiny sense of what was going on inside him. He was like a newborn cub, getting used to his abilities, learning how to control them before they controlled him.

But for the time being, all he could see in his mind was Lincoln’s scrawny neck that he could squeeze into mush with a single clench of his fist.

He slowly turned his head to gaze at Hannah. She stood with her hands on her hips, still looking deliciously gorgeous in the midday sun. Even though she was pissed off, Levi still wanted her. He felt like he would eternally want her.

“Youhaveto stop and take a breather,” she said loudly. “You don’t know what’s going on inside your own body. It’s driving you to make irrational decisions.”

“Oh,” Levi said, beginning to walk toward her. “Is that the excuse you make for yourself?”

Hannah’s eyes narrowed. She was a strong woman as well as sensitive and could take as good as she gave out.

“Don’t start with me, Levi,” she said. “I know this isn’t you talking. It’s the serum. Now get over here.”

Levi was waiting for her to stomp her feet like a scolding teacher, but he came over anyway. He stopped within a few inches, towering over her. The view was spectacular.

He watched as she swallowed hard, sensing her heart rate pick up the pace like a horse hearing a gun go off.

“We have to first get some clothes,” she whispered, eyes glistening in the sun. “Then, we need a car, and probably a phone and some money. Wedohave to get the feds involved because we don’t know how high this goes.”

Levi felt like kissing her despite the frustration moving through his body. He raised a hand to her face and began stroking her cheek. Hannah opened her mouth, watching him watch her, breathing heavily.

“Do you hear me?” she murmured.

“The feds are only going to waste time, Hannah,” Levi said. “You and I are a team now. We can get to him and take him out faster than anyone can.”

Levi heard the words coming out of his mouth and was surprised to see that he actually believed them.

Hannah took his hand from her face and dropped it to her hips. She became serious, swallowing hard again, likely trying to contain her own attraction.

“We’re talking to Nick first,” Hannah ordered.

Levi was fine with someone, especially a partner leading the way. But there was something more dominant inside of him that wanted to throw her over his shoulder and be on their way.

He let go of her hand and somehow avoided the impulse.

“Fine,” he huffed.

Hannah gave him a stern look and spun around, grabbing onto her breasts and attempting to block her nudity from the world.

They trailed through the forest until they arrived back at headquarters. Nick threw some clothing through the window at them, and they dressed quickly before going back inside.

They were guided into his hospital room, where Nick sat on the bed. He was gazing at his phone when they entered and had a sly smirk on his face when he glanced up.

“Welcome,” he said, sounding sarcastic. “Welcome to your new skin, Levi.” His eyes slid toward Hannah, the smirk remaining. “I take it you two have already been reacquainted?”

Levi gave both Hannah and Nick a puzzled look, but Hannah looked away, clearing her throat while fidgeting with the zippers on her pants.

“What’s the update on the Lincoln situation?” Hannah asked, changing the subject.

Nick slipped his phone into his pocket and rose from the bed. Levi found that he was taller than Nick, too.

“Not much beyond what the two of you had discovered,” Nick said. “He has gone into hiding, but we have faith there are features you two have that our team hasn’t been able to tap into yet.”

Hannah sighed, then proceeded to cross her arms. Levi adored the way her arms elevated her breasts into a perfect shelf.
