Page 92 of Surprised By Love

The highschool choir breaks out with Oh Christmas tree, the town and tourists join in. Tears fill my eyes and I look down at Amelia, who is singing her little heart out, the biggest smile I have ever seen on her face and it reassures me I made the best decision ever when we moved back home to Sunset Creek.

“Josh, Sam.” Maureen turns towards us. “If it’s okay with you both, we would like to take the kids for the night.”

I look at Josh, and he nods.

“Give me a second to go talk to Amelia,” I say to Maureen and turn to my daughter.

“Hey baby girl.” I squat down to be eye level with her. “Emily’s gramma wants to know if you would like to go have a sleepover at their house with Emily and Jake.”

“Really? That would be so cool. Can I, momma?” Amelia bounces on her tiptoes.

“If you want to.” I can’t help but chuckle.

“Yes, please,” she says, a toothy smile on display.

I turn back to Maureen. “Looks like it’s a go. It’s not like she would’ve said no. Amelia and Emily seem to be joined at the hip.”

We all laugh.

“Alright then. If you want to head out. You can. We…” She waves a finger at her husband, who is making plans with the kids and back to herself. “Have everything under control.”

Josh doesn’t hesitate. He kisses his mom on the cheek and we say bye to the kids and I tell Amelia to be a good girl. Not that I have to worry. She is very well mannered.

Josh grabs my hand and he practically drags me to his car, his stride much wider than mine. I can’t help but laugh. He stops and looks at me. “Sam, do you know what this means?”

I look into his darkened blue eyes, and I know exactly what he means. We can finally have some time alone.

Chapter Thirty-Four

Josh

Islamthedoorbehind me as we rush inside.

Grabbing her wrist, I pull Sam close, my mouth fusing with hers in a needy kiss. I toe off my boots and my fingers are frantically unzipping her jacket.

She moans into my mouth and I’m not sure we will make it upstairs. Might have to do it right here against the wall.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but I’m not sure if she is into it and I don’t want to talk. I want her so fucking bad.

I slide her jacket off and it falls to the floor. Her hands are on me, unzipping my coat. It drops to the floor beside hers, and I grab her hand and lift her up over my shoulder in a fireman’s carry.

“Josh, put me down. I’m too heavy,” She gasps.

“No, you’re perfect.”

She lets out a laugh as we make our way up the stairs to my room.

By the time we make it to my room and lower her to the floor, we are both frantic and grabbing at each other.

I lift my sweater over my head and she takes hold of the dress shirt I had on underneath and rips it open.

Buttons flying everywhere.

Damn, I didn’t know she had this side of her. I’m not complaining, I like it. We haven’t had time alone in two weeks and by the way Sam is acting; she wants me as much as I want her.

I stand there watching as she rakes her eyes over my bare chest. When she pops open the button of my dress pants and lowers herself to her knees, taking my pants and boxer briefs with her, my cock twitches as if it knows what she’s about to do. “Fuck,” I growl deep in my throat. “Are you sure? You don’t have to—”

She looks up at me and smiles. “I haven’t done it much, but I’m sure.”
