She grabs me and gives me a hug. “Now you go over there and show them you are S.A.S.”

The bell above the door goes off and Josh enters the diner, walking like a man who knows what he wants, and he’s headed straight for me.

I put down the cloth I was using to wipe the counter when he walks behind it, grabs me by the waist and spins me around.

He plants his lips on mine before I say anything. His kiss is soft yet demanding, if only for a few seconds. When he pulls back, I feel lightheaded. If he was trying to be discreet, he sure as hell wasn’t doing that now.

“Good morning, girlfriend,” he says as he brings his hand up to my face and brushes a hair away that had fallen in front of my eyes.

“Morning, boyfriend,” I say, a little breathless. I love when he kisses me like that.

Making me feel delicate and cherished.

I’m not used to so much PDA, so it will take some getting used to… but I like it.

I still can’t believe last night he officially asked me to be his girl. It felt like I was back in high school, but I haven’t been so happy in as long as I could remember.

He wants a future with me, and I can’t wait to see what that looks like. We’ve told none of our family yet, but I’m sure they don’t need to be told. They see how we are with each other.

“I have a busy day today. But I wanted to come by and say good morning to my girlfriend and grab a coffee.” He grins and I melt a little.

I can’t help it when he smiles at me like with those damn dimples.

I look over at the table of women, and they are all watching us. Turning my face back to Josh, I let out a groan.

“What’s wrong?”

“Nothing,” I say, trying to act nonchalant.

He tilts his head and raises his brows. “I don’t believe you. Tell me what’s wrong?”

I don’t want to start this relationship holding back, so I tell him what happened.

“I see,” he says, and pulls me closer to him. “I think we need to give them something to talk about.” Again, with no time to respond, he presses his lips to mine and kisses me like a starving man and I’m a large plate of spaghetti.

“Get a room,” Tiff exclaims as she enters from the kitchen.

I pull away from Josh, heat creeping up my neck.

“Don’t mind if I do,” Josh says, taking my hand and dragging me into the kitchen. I can hear Tiff’s laughter as the swinging door closes.

“Oh. My. God. I can’t believe you did that.”

“Why? I want everyone to know you’re mine.” Josh smirks.

I can’t help but laugh and shake my head. “I like that idea too.”

Josh’s smile fades, and there is a seriousness about him now. “What?” I ask.

“Promise me if anyone gives you a hard time or you hear anyone talking about you or us, you tell me right away. Okay?”

“Okay.”

“Promise me, Sam.”

I nod. “Alright, I promise.” I get up on my tiptoes and plant a soft kiss on his lips. “Now, didn’t you say you have a busy day? Let me get you that coffee.”

I get Josh’s coffee and a cranberry muffin ready for him while he stands at the end of the counter watching me.
