She moans as I thrust harder. “Good. S’good.”

“Fuck, baby. Come for me. Now. Olivia, now.”

As my cock pushes deep inside her, she cries out and comes on my cock. The feeling of her inner walls clenching down sends me into a frenzied passion, and my release hits me.

We cling to each other as our bodies tremble. Once we still, I finally pull out of her.

She giggles. “Good morning.”

I place a lazy kiss on her lips. “Good morning to you, too.”

After Oliviaand I manage to break apart from each other, we meet our families downstairs for breakfast. It’s tradition, but I hate it. I’d rather be in that hotel room, fucking my wife.

Olivia’s parents, grandma, and brother are sitting with my mom at a table in the hotel restaurant. Fiona Kelly. My mother. A formidable woman when my father was alive, but since his passing, she’s mostly kept to herself, keeping herself company with a bottle of wine and a bottle of pills.

I wasn’t even sure she would make the wedding, but she did. I’m proud of her for that. I can’t wait for the day I get to tell herI’mthe one who took away the Donovan’s power and sought justice for my father.

“Here’s the happy couple!” Patrick rejoices as Olivia and I take our seats.

“Here, here,” Siobhan, Olivia’s mom, says, clinking her glass.

“I’m happy you joined us,” Patrick goes on.

“Yes,” Regan, Olivia’s grandma, comments. “I’m amazed you two could pull yourselves apart long enough.”

“Grandma,” Olivia says, flushing.

“Yeah, we don’t need to talk about that,” Owen says, pain written across his face.

Patrick waves his fork at me. “There just better be blood on the sheets when I check later.”

“I did my duty, sir,” I reply. Siobhan and Regan exchange an amused glance while my mom looks like she’d rather be back in her bed, asleep with her pills.

Patrick pats me on the back. “That’s my boy. Welcome to the family.”

Everyone except Owen cheers.

Olivia sets her glass down. “Can’t you be happy for me, Owen?”

His gaze softens. “I’m trying. It’s just tough.”

“Well, I, for one,” Patrick says, “would like to say that our families are officially tied together again. Since Noah’s passing, it hasn’t been easy but knowing I get to work with his son is like God giving me a sign. All will be right in the world.”

At the sound of my father’s name, I still. The image of him lying on his death bed is still so clear in my mind, like it happened yesterday when, in fact, it’s been years.

“Since you don’t want us discussing personal business,” Patrick goes on, “shall we discuss some non-personal business? James, let’s talk about expanding our territory. But first, I have a shipment coming in tomorrow. I’d love for you to look it over and come up with a way for us to grow it.” Since we’re in a public restaurant, Patrick wouldn’t dare use the real name for “shipments.” It’s heroin. It’s what the Donovan mob is known for smuggling. Now I just need to find a way to use their shipment to take more power for myself.

“I would be more than happy to do so.”

“That’s my job,” Owen objects.

Patrick sighs. “I know. But now I’m focused on training you to take after me. And it will be good for James to familiarize himself with our product. End of discussion.”

Soon after, we finish our meal, and once Patrick’s done inspecting the sheets, Olivia and I are free to go home.

Well, to my home, but it’s now our home.
