"You need to get out before this place destroys you and…I don't want you to die." The emotions swimming in his eyes paralyze me. He's petrified. He truly believes that if I don't leave, I'll die.

"You deserve so much better than this, than any of us. We're all human garbage that have only one option in life to get away from Kai and all this pain. That's football. You have so many better opportunities at your feet and you deserve everything. You deserve to have a family of your own, a house full of love, a husband that actually deserves your commitment. Not this. This isn't the end for you.” His conviction scares me as if he knows something horrible is coming.

"You say that like you really think I'm about to die," I assess.

He smirks. "No, I don't think that. Just … don't let Kai try to suck you into whatever he's planning. We know he has something up his sleeve. We just don't know what. Anytime we ask him, he shuts us down completely. We don't even know what all the steps to C-4 are. We only know the ones that have already happened … except for what happens tomorrow."

His solemn expression intensifies.

"What happens tomorrow?” His eyes shoot up and I follow his line of sight to the camera in the corner of the room. "Right," I mumble as I look back at him.

"All I can say is for you to remember that we all care about you and don't want to do it. You're not going to be hurt…physically. I can promise you that."

That doesn't help me much. I want to tell Dax about my revenge plan set for tonight, but the camera keeps me from doing that.

Maybe…

I smirk and lean into his ear, whispering low. "I'm going to do something to get some revenge on Kai."

He lets out a small laugh. "Oh, really? Can I be a part of your plot?"

"No, sorry. Everything is already in motion. As long as everyone is here for another hour, it will work just perfectly." I smile as he pulls me close.

"I think I can manage to delay everyone from leaving," he adds.

"Are you my partner in crime now, Dax?"

"Abso-fuckin-lutely."

I lean in and give him an excited kiss, his lips tasting so sweet. "Thanks, Dax."

"Should I come back later?" Nico jokes as he pops his head in the door, holding a plate of delicious-smelling cookies.

"Oh, fuck you!" Dax cackles as he leans back against the side of the tub.

"Hey! Be nice to The Cookie Fairy!" I scold playfully as Nico walks right over to us and extends the plate. "How dare you offer me such an array of delicious treats when you know I'm on a strict turkey diet?" I joke.

"I would not have offered if it hadn't been approved. Unlike Knox's dumbass, I'm not going to get you in trouble."

"That just makes me want to take it even less," I groan.

"Just take a fucking cookie," Dax demands. "Don't let Kai get to you. He's not worth the aggravation."

Dax is right. Kai isn't worth it, but he does have the ability to make my life ten times worse.

"Fuck him," I say before I take a cookie off the plate. I take a big bite out of the delicious cookie and moan from the taste. "Thank God for The Cookie Fairy."

Dax laughs and takes a cookie for himself.

"Is that a crack on me being gay?" Nico fakes offense.

"But are you really gay though? You fucked me, and last time I checked, I don't have a penis." I take another bite out of my cookie.

"Babe, you guys having sex doesn't make him any less gay, like I'm no less straight just because I love this flamboyant fucker."

I nearly spit out my cookie as Nico scowls at Dax.

"Bullshit! I'm not flamboyant."
