I’m going to have so much fun teaching her about who is in control. The tantalizing thoughts of how I plan to do this have my dick growing harder.

“I can’t believe you. What did that man ever do to you?” she fires at me. I watch the color rise in her cheeks while she is doing this. It amuses me that she thinks the man is a saint when the opposite is the case. “I was right about you all along. There is no way I’ll marry a sick psychopath like you!” she fires, and all my amusement suddenly disappears.

“What did you just say?” I ask calmly, and she becomes silent. Her eyes shift around in fear. I imagine she is looking for an escape route. I would love to see her try to escape from me. “What did you say?” I repeat, and her eyes return to me. I almost forget about her earlier statement when those beautiful black eyes land on me… Almost.

“Listen, I don’t want to marry you. I don’t know what my father was thinking making that ridiculous agreement with you. I’ve told him this, and I’m telling you. I will not marry you. I’ll never fit into your world. I can’t live with someone who kills people at random,” she rambles.

Her words infuriate me. It isn’t until her eyes drift to my hands that I realize my fists are clenched. I slowly release them while I stare at her, wondering if she has finished. I want to take this as lightly as possible.

“We are getting married,” I tell her, and she gapes at me in shock. I don’t care if she is right about not fitting into my world. None of that matters to me except her. She is like the light I’ve been looking for, and I’ll be damned if I’m going to let her go.

“No, we’re not…I can’t,” she says, and I growl. She shifts backward as if the distance the table has created between us isn’t enough.

“Solnishko, you don’t have a choice. I want to marry you. And I always get what I want,” I tell her, and her eyes widen. That only makes her more beautiful, even though her eyes are bulging in horror.

“You’re going to force me to marry you when it is clear I don’t want you?” she says.

My nostrils flare. “Don’t be so sure about that,” I tell her, and she frowns. “You want me more than you think,” I add before pulling my mouth to a grin. Surely, she doesn’t think it escaped my notice how she stared at me just before I gunned down that idiot.

“Such a pompous and arrogant man,” she spits. “You must be seeing things because there is no way I want you.” The dismay in her voice is as clear as day. I huff in response as an idea occurs to me.

“I can prove to you how much you want me right here,” I tell her, and her eyes widen in shock.

“Stop it, this is madness,” she says, and I lean against the chair.

“Madness? I don’t see madness in having our wedding this week,” I say.

She blanches. “What did you say?” she chokes out. I stare at her. “You must be out of your mind if you think I’ll marry you. Let alone in the next few days,” she says, clearly taken aback.

“Make no mistake,” I tell her as I lean forward. “We will be married before this week ends.”

“It’s not going to happen,” she says, and I chuckle.

“It will happen. You are going to be my wife and the mother of my children, whether you like it or not. You will make this easier for yourself by accepting a deal that was sealed a long time ago,” I tell her, almost enjoying the quarrel. Her passion is making her chest heave as her breath comes faster. It’s a sight I could get used to.

“Over my dead body,” she hisses, and my burning anger suddenly resurfaces.

I wonder if it is the thought of being my wife that fills her with distaste or the thought of having my children. Either way, I don’t care. I’m going to show her how much she is mine.

My chair scrapes sharply as I lean forward abruptly and grip her chin in my hand.

“Pretty girl,” I say between clenched teeth. “Make no mistake…that could easily be arranged.”

Her lips open and close silently as I release her abruptly. I can still feel the smooth silk of that skin where it burned beneath my fingertips. If anything, it fuels a fire that’s unfamiliar to me. I want to take her in more ways than one until she submits to me. I want to brand her with my seed and make her beg for more. It will happen no matter what it takes.

My Solnishko will soon understand that I always get what I want.

Always.

CHAPTER SIX

Aurora

I can’t believe what is happening.

I stare at the frightening man sitting across from me, who is so certain that the wedding will go ahead as planned. All my hopes that he will cancel the arrangement begin to dissolve. I tried everything. It’s no use.

I would give anything to escape this fate, but I know any attempt I make will be futile. I thought my father was cold; the man sitting across from me is worse.
