“Is there a problem, Boss?” Petrov asks as I hand the phone back to him. There’s no way I’ll tell him that a woman has me riled up in this manner.
But Aurora isn’t just any woman.
She is my Solnishko.
“No,” I say with a curt nod, then change the subject.“Who was the attacker?” I ask, not only because I want details on the assassin but because I want to get my thoughts off Aurora. We are getting married tomorrow anyway.
“He was French. We found a passport. And a tattoo affiliating him to a bike gang in France,” Petrov says. I frown. What business do I have with a bike gang in France that might have them coming after me? Or was he hired by someone? Is there more to this fucking Garret situation than I thought?“We don’t know if he was working alone or if this was an assignment instigated by his gang,” Petrov continues. My frown deepens.
“Find out,” I snap. “I don’t care if you have to go to France to figure it out. I need answers. I want the names of the heads that are about to roll.”
“I was thinking the same thing. I’ll leave tomorrow morning,” Petrov says.
“Make that evening,” I tell him, and Petrov frowns at me. “My wedding is tomorrow. It won’t be complete without you.”
The corner of Petrov’s mouth curls into a smile. “Understood, Boss,” he nods.
“Get me a priest,” I say. “And I’ll need the necessary documents drafted.”
“Got it, Boss,” Petrov says and I start realizing how much his absence will be felt.
“How long do you think you’ll be away?” I ask.
“That depends on how fast I get information,” he replies.
“Then get it fast,” I say. Under different circumstances, I might be troubled by him leaving. But right now, I’m more preoccupied with my marriage to my fierce princess.

“What do you want to do, Boss?” Ludis asks, looking at me as I pace the room. The wedding is supposed to be held any moment now, but I’ve gotten intel that Aurora is refusing to attend.
My fierce Solnishko.
Even now, she’s fighting me.
Makes no difference to me, though.
“Send the men and have her brought here,” I tell Ludis.
“Consider it done.” Ludis nods before he leaves the room.
Petrov stays behind, watching me as I continue pacing the room. I imagine he is wondering why I’m acting out in this manner. Not that it’s any of his business. Aurora is mine, and there’s no way she’ll escape me.
My phone starts buzzing in my pocket.
“What is it?” I snap, trying to hide my frustration.
“We are trying to get her out,” De Luca’s voice comes over the line.
“Leave it to me. I’ll take it from here,” I tell him before I end the call.
It takes a little over thirty minutes before my phone starts ringing again. I check the ID and realize it is Ludis.
“Ludis?” I ask.
“We have her. We are on our way. We will join you at the chapel soon,” he says.
“Good job.” A sense of relief washes over me. Perhaps Aurora is finally starting to understand the lengths I will go to have her. I end the call and turn to face Petrov. “Let’s go,” I tell him before I storm out of my office with my right-hand man at my back.
