“I’ll do it again if you don’t do as I tell you,” he says. I cast an uncertain look at him. I don’t think my ass can handle another spanking.
“Sit,” Lev says as he pats the empty space beside him.
I have no choice but to do as he has demanded. I sit on the couch, keeping as much space between us as possible. My burning flesh protests as I sit, but I hold my tongue. I watch him draw the trolley until it is in front of us before glancing at me.
“What do you want?” he asks. I stare at him. I’m sure he will never give me what I truly want…and that is to be rid of this madness that has taken over me. “Very well… Toast, omelet, and bacon it is,” he says, dishing out food.
He sets a plate in front of me before he starts digging into his own food.
“Eat,” he commands, and I jump at how terse his voice sounds. I quickly take a bite. I didn’t realize until now how hungry I am. Finally, something to take my mind off my own sick desires.
“Tell me about growing up,” he says out of the blue. I’m taken aback. I glance at him in shock, but he doesn’t spare me a glance as he continues eating.
“Why are you suddenly concerned about my childhood?” I ask him with a suspicious look.
“Isn’t that something all women like to talk about? I’m trying to make polite conversation here,” Lev says with a shrug. I want to pull my hair in frustration. His reason for asking me about my childhood is the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard.
“I’m not ‘all women.’ I do not intend to talk about my personal life with you,” I snap in annoyance. Lev remains silent after a few minutes, then turns to face me.
“First off, you’re right. You are not all women,Solnishko,” he says. I frown as it dawns on me that he constantly calls me this. I won’t give him the satisfaction of asking what the name means. “Second, don’t you think I should know a few things about you since you are now my wife?” he questions with arched brows.
“I might be your wife, but not by choice. I’d prefer to keep my life private,” I mutter as I take another bite of toast.
“If that’s what you want,” Lev says with disinterest. He remains silent as we continue to eat. As far as I’m concerned, breakfast could not end soon enough. I have more important things to dwell on.
Like how I’m going to keep my distance from this insufferable man when he’s so clearly getting under my skin.
CHAPTER NINE
Lev
“Fight like a man!” I snap at Drew, one of my soldiers.
We are currently sparring on the training ground. I’ve not heard from Petrov, andI can’t shake the feelingthat there is more to the assassination attempt than we first believed. It comes too close after Garret’s betrayal.
Too fucking close.
There have been too many complications these past few weeks. And I hate complications. It’s why I’m preparing my men for a war I suspect will happen.
I can’t afford any surprises.
I have witnessed firsthand what can happen when an unexpected attack hits.
Aside from training my men and pushing them to their limits, Aurora is another reason I’m burying myself in hours of training.
That woman frustrates me to no end. By now, she should have succumbed. I’ve never had a problem with finding women; I know can have anyone. But this…this impossible female is driving me to distraction. I don’t know if she enjoys pushing my buttons in the most impossible ways or if she is just naturally feisty.
But I will not force myself on her and make a martyr of her virtue. She will crawl to me on her knees, begging for cock before that happens.
Patience.
I simply need patience.
Though I doubt it will be much longer. I smile as I think of what happened the last time I set eyes on her. Thinking about her flaming red ass after I spanked her has my dick straining against my pants.
She fucking loved every second of it.
So damn ripe for the taking—
