It served as a warning. But it delighted him that despite that, Daria could not help the moans coming out of her throat, small at the first lick before they increased in volume at every subsequent lick. When he sucked, her hands clutched his hair, needing that anchor to hold on as unintelligible words flew out of her. This wanton Daria that let go of all restraint and surrendered herself to him was a sight to behold, and the vision stayed with him as he took in her quivering body, her arched tits, her parted lips, begging for a kiss that he would give her later. Repeatedly. However much she wanted.
“Let go, sweetheart,” he rasped, hard as a rock and rubbing against the mattress as he found her clit and worked it into a frenzy. “Come for me, Daria.”
When she exploded for him, he could not believe the luck he held in his hands and made an inward promise that no matter what happened, her happiness came first.
So did her pleasure.
A date felt like the most natural next step, especially when he wanted to take things slow—especiallywhen his entire body screamed at him to take her so hard that she screamed, too, in all kinds of positions that the bed allowed. The hunger verging on desperation, with just a touch of crazed, was enough to send him taking a step back just so he could wrestle with control and treat her the way she needed to be. With respect. With adoration. Like she mattered because hell knew she did.
In short, he shouldn’t just fuck her like a rabid dog on the day she reciprocated her feelings.
“Stop looking at me like that,” he warned.
They were in the makeshift dining room, which was becoming one of the group’s favorite spots. Perhaps food became a comfort to them after having such a limited source during their journey. But then again, maybe it was just the comfort of spending time together.
“Like what?” she asked, innocence coating her tone.
“Like you just want to gobble me up.”
That innocence seeped in her smile, too, sweet and airy. But he knew this woman—his best friend—well enough to know that beyond the sweetness lay something else, and he read the glint of mischief in her eyes.
“Maybe I do.”
A foot nudged his. Then a hand sought his under the table, so he took it to his lap and squeezed it in a warning. Her foot didn’t let up, rubbing up and down his calf. They glanced at the doorway when Malifeskos stumbled in, massaging his forehead and frowning.
“I don’t love anyone,” he announced.
Riva grinned while Sona hid a smile. Charlie mulled over it and watched as the man sat beside Diego, who hissed and ignored him. That the vampire should have been smug after a night of hunting with Edmund but was cranky as hell and had Charlie raising a brow.
“What is that all about?”
“Diego, I don’t know. The rest, my lips are sealed.”
Fingers traced circles on his palm, then were gone. He started lifting his hand back to the table when he felt it: those same fingers gliding up and down his thigh before cupping him in between his legs. A choking sound got lodged in his throat when she rubbed repeatedly, and it wasn’t long before his pants became too tight.
“So, this date you suggested tonight….”
“Yes?”
“What do you want me to wear?”
Did she think he had anything to say when she touched him like that? His mind was blank, empty of all reflections except how good it would feel if her hand touched him underneath the zipper. But then again, he would probably make a fool of himself with all the groaning and begging.
Charlie swallowed, shifted his body, and caught her hand in his before she could reach his zipper. He leaned in, mouth brushing her ear as he whispered.
“Anything you want. You will look beautiful to me no matter what. And after dinner…”
“What?” she asked.
A tick pulsed at his jaw from trying to not turn his head and just kiss her there in front of everyone. He licked her earlobe and heard her breath hitch.
“We can explore more artwork here. Edmund and my sister have a lot of secret stashes, and I’m sure you would like to see them all.”
He glided a hand down her back until he felt her vibrate, then dropped it and returned to eating. A smug feeling came over him at her slightly dazed state before she shook it off, inhaled, and straightened her shoulders. She pouted. He grinned, wordlessly letting her know two could play at that game and continued watching the others.
“What are you up to today?” she asked after a while.
“I’m communicating with our outer sources again to check how safe every faction is. As much as we are not involved with Diego’s and Riva’s clans….”
