“What about pancakes, snuggles and hot sex? Will those work?” He smirks.

“Guess you will need to wait and find out, won’t you?” I boop his nose laughing.

Ezra leads us downstairs to the kitchen. I glance around, trying to find our breakfast, but it is nowhere in sight.

“Did you lie to me?” I pout.

“No, of course not. We are having it outside. Everything is already there waiting for us.” He smiles, pecking my lips before we head outside.

The yard is as incredible as the rest of the house. It is huge. Tall walls surround it, giving him privacy. I spot the swimming pool and the hot tub. There is a patio area with garden furniture and a fire pit. Most of it has grass, except a path leading through the garden which were pathed with slabs.

“Oh wow, it is beautiful out here,” I gush, turning to him.

“Thanks. I like it out here. It is a sanctuary for me.”

I can see why. If I had a yard like this I would be spending all my free time out here. “Breakfast is over by the waterfall.” He smiles.

“Waterfall? You have a waterfall?” I squeal from excitement because I love them.

“Yes.” He chuckles.

I can’t see it from where we are standing. He leads me further down a path until we come to a set of stone steps, and right there at the bottom is the waterfall! It’s stunning, the clear water from it runs into a smaller pool, which is connected to a larger one.

“I feel like I am in a completely different world. I can’t get over how beautiful it is. I am in awe.”

“Breakfast is waiting down there, my lady,” he says with a smile before bowing.

I snicker at his actions. “Thank you, kind sir.”

Ezra flashes a dorky smile at me, resting his hand on the small of my back and we make our way down the steps. My eyes go wide when I see what he has done for me.

“Y-Y-You did all of this for me?” I stammer because no one has ever done anything close to this romantic for me.

There is a table for two set up. He has a stack of pancakes sitting on it, along with some fruit. There’s a pot of coffee and a couple of mimosas. In the middle of the table is a vase with roses, real roses in it.

“Yes, because you deserve it. I know it may be hard to believe sometimes with the way I act, but I do have a romantic side to me. I just don’t show it often. It has been a while since I have used it,” he says softly, rubbing the back of his neck nervously. I wonder if he’s embarrassed or maybe vulnerable since he is showing me a side of himself that I believe he usually hides from everyone.

“I love it! Thank you,” I coo. Kissing him softly I slip my arms around his neck.

Ezra hugs me tightly, holding my body to his, and I feel him relax. We part after a moment. “Come on, beautiful, let’s sit down and eat.” Ezra pulls the chair out for me, allowing me to sit first.

“Thank you.” I take my seat, and he sits across from me.

“I hope they taste alright. Pancakes aren’t something I make often.” He has a chuckle and rubs the back of his neck again.

They look good, but I will have my final say after I try them. I stab my fork into the stack, take two for my plate, pour some syrup over them, and then artfully put some banana slices on top. Ezra waits patiently for me to try them. I purposely take my time, cutting a small bit off and slowly moving it towards my mouth.

“Alana!” he complains. “Please hurry up so I know if I need to toss them out or not.” He purses his lips at me.

I decide to stop teasing him, and eat the first mouthful, groaning when it tickles my taste buds. They are delicious!

“Is that a good or a bad groan?” he questions.

“Good! There are yummy, Ezra.” I gush, taking another bite.

Ezra smiles proudly before he takes some for himself and eats a mouthful. “If I may say so myself, they are pretty good.”

A comfortable silence comes between us as we eat. It is the perfect way to start our morning.
