“I never expected to feel such a powerful bond,” she said.
He rolled on top of her and stole another heated kiss. Her lips were warm and soft as they parted slightly, allowing his tongue to slip inside. “I should take you again. However, I believe my brothers are anxiously awaiting their turn to bond with you.”
“I’m anxious as well,” she admitted.
“I should make them wait until the moon is about to disappear into the horizon.”
“What would they think?”
“They would wear a path in the rug.” He chuckled. “On a serious note, are you ready?”
“I am.”
Enatta heard the sounds of stallion’s hooves clacking against the stone road leading to the front of her manor. She ran outside and Cadell, along with a dozen warriors, were headed in her direction. She ran down the steps and called out. “Cadell, do you have Laurent?”
He pulled his stallion to a halt, and she reached up and placed her hand on his thigh. “Yes. He is safe, my love.”
The warrior’s parted, and Laurent rode up, and Calista was riding next to him. She glared at Cadell with furrowed brows.
“I expect you to be courteous and make her feel welcomed. Understand me?” “I will be as pleasant as she is.”
Cadell placed his hand on hers and squeezed.“You will do better, or you will find yourself sleeping in the barn,”he threatened telepathically.
She pulled her hand away and rushed to Laurent. “Laurent, you scared me to death.”
He dismounted, and they wrapped their arms around each other. “I am sorry, Mother. I never meant for any of this to happen.”
She pulled back and cupped his face in her hands. “Laurent, what happened? And where is Mira?”
Cadell placed his hand on her shoulder. “Let’s go inside and I’ll explain.” He then walked to Calista and held her mare’s reins. “It will be fine.”
She dismounted and reluctantly followed him and as they walked past Enatta, Calista gave her a forced smile and although Enatta smiled back, her eyes remained cold and judgmental.
She is a smug and disingenuous shrew. I can’t, for the life of me, figure out what Cadell sees in her?Calista thought.
Riordan called to Nicolai and Kieran telepathically.“It’s time.”
They materialized at the edge of the bed, removed their clothes, and crawled over Sylvana’s body while Riordan got out of bed, filled a glass, and took a seat on the chair.
“Our turn,” Nicolai whispered as he slid his hand between her legs and massaged her sex. Kieran twirled his tongue over her soft buds and suckled them while Nicolai parted her
mouth with his. After a moment, Nicolai pulled away. “Are you ready, love?”
“I am.”
“All you have to do is say yes.” He then bent down and whispered in her ear. “First, I need you to know I truly love you.”
“I love you too, Nicolai, and yes.” She turned her head to the side, and his canines pierced her flesh. After taking what he needed, he turned his head to the side. “Take my vein, darling.”
Nicolai’s blood flowed over her tongue, and with each swallow, the same sensation took over; he too, was attaching himself to her from the inside out. She pulled her canines from his flesh and he took her mouth to his, reveling in the taste of his own blood on her tongue. He then pulled away and removed his amulet and placed it around her neck. “You are mine. Say it.”
“I am yours.”
Kieran cupped her face in his palm and gazed into her emerald-green eyes. “Say yes.”“Yes.”
Having completed the bond, he placed his amulet around her neck. “You are mine. Say it.”
“I am yours.”
