“They are just rumors, but I thought you should know. She does not belong to the court and
you are well aware how the ladies treat an outsider. However, Lenora told me this morning Tobias doesn’t want her associating with her.”
“Great. I wonder why my mates haven’t said anything?” Sylvana replied.
“Well, she wasn’t in the fields handing out food to the workers this morning.”
They looked at each other and took a drink, both having the same thought regarding her sudden disappearance. “Riordan?” Sylvana questioned.
Venthana simply shrugged her shoulders.
“Has the plan been set in motion?” Riordan asked.
“Yes. Our warriors have captured a Faye who were scouting the area just beyond the veil. Our scouts saw Dronve with Ranan two weeks ago,” Rhazien replied.
“Well, hell, it couldn’t have worked out better. They will tie him to Ranan,” Riordan said.
“We also believe the Lycan’s and/or the Faye have Kadric Orfaedo. They found his stallion grazing in the fields outside his manor last night and there was the subtle scent of a Lycan on him,” Mordeci added.
“Where is the Faye now?” Nicolai asked.
“Sequestered and guarded on the south side of the Black Moor,” Astorath replied.
“Then we head out today, and we need to look for any sign of Kadric,” Kieran stated.
“My brothers and I will go with you. We want to make sure this goes according to plan,” Riordan said.
“Has Tobias made the preparations for the inbreds?” Nicolai asked.
Mordeci pointed to an area on the map. “Yes. This is where he has laid the bait.”
Riordan tilted his cup toward Astaroth. “Before we leave, there is something you need to know regarding Sylvana.”
“We are listening,” Astaroth replied with a slight nod.
“Kieran,” Riordan said.
Kieran stood, removed his tunic, tossed it on the table, and turned his back to the Guild. Various words were mumbled under their breath and the members looked at each other, not believing what they were seeing.
“May I?” Astaroth asked.
Riordan nodded and Astaroth walked over and studied what appeared to be nothing more than a large scar. “It’s healed? How—how is this possible? Did—you said Sylvana?”
Kieran turned around and smiled. “After taking her blood last night, the wound had healed by the time I awoke.”
Astaroth handed Kieran his shirt. “This—this is incredible. I find myself at a loss for words.”
“Wounds of the Faye are no longer a threat to us?” Norix questioned.
“Apparently,” Kieran replied.
“It is imperative this information does not leave this room,” Riordan demanded.
“You have our word as your brothers. This will remain within these walls.”
“Rhazien, we have granted your sister with access to our mate. Do we have your word she will reveal nothing Sylvana tells her, or do I need to make it clear?” Riordan asked.
“Venthana is trustworthy. I will speak to her before we leave to make sure she fully understands her position and what is expected.”
