“There sure is,” Nicolai replied.
Riordan placed his hand on their shoulders as they walked. “I’m not sure I buy it?”
“Neither do I. Something is amiss. It doesn’t add up,” Nicolai agreed.
“The Wolf’s Bane Moon will be at its peak tonight,” Riordan said.
“We no longer have any doubt who Sylvana is,” Nicolai replied.
“Have you brought this up to the Guild?” Kieran asked.
Riordan squeezed his shoulder. “No.”
“I am not sure Sylvana will agree?” Nicolai chuckled.
“She will choose wisely,” Riordan replied.
“Have you had anymore shifter encounters?” Klyn asked with a coy smile.
“No.” Sylvana smiled.
“Other than your little altercation, have you enjoyed the evening?”
“Very much so.”
Klyn nodded in the opposite direction. “It appears Alaric has put the blade down.” He spun her around and she looked at Alaric, who had Muriel wrapped in his arms as they glided across the floor.
“For now anyway,” she replied.
The music slowed and Klyn looked down at her. “Would you like a drink?”
“I would.”
He placed his hand on her lower back and he escorted her to her ladies.
“Where are your three overlords?” Venthana joked when she and Klyn walked over.
“I think another fight broke out,” Sylvana replied.
“I would expect nothing less from this crowd.” Venthana chuckled.
Riordan appeared behind Klyn, placed a couple of hard pats on his shoulder and looked at Sylvana. “Is he still dancing with feet made of clay?”
“No.” She chuckled.
Riordan then spoke to Klyn telepathically.“Keep a sharp eye on Alaric.”
“Yes, milord.”
Riordan turned his attention back to Sylvana. “There is someone you need to see.”
She glanced at the brothers. “Who?”
“A special guest of ours,” Riordan replied.
“Shall we?” Nicolai asked as he and Kieran held out their elbows.
