“Uh, yeah. How did you know?” I asked.

“Because you’re smiling at your phone,” she laughed.

They came and took me to the farmer’s market. I like your mom, and Greta is crazy. I replied.

“We can drop you off at the clubhouse after lunch,” Gwen offered.

Have fun?

It was a good time. How are you feeling?

Head hurts

Oh. That was new. We’re getting lunch, and then I’ll be over. I would have preferred to just go to the clubhouse now, but everyone seemed pretty excited about margaritas and tacos.

Im good C U soon

“How is he even texting you?” Greta asked.

“Probably with the phone touching his nose,” Gwen laughed.

“He said he’s okay, but his head is hurting,” I worried.

Greta’s eyes snapped to me. “Is that bad?”

I didn’t really know. “It’s probably nothing. It’s kind of surprising that he hasn’t had more headaches since the surgery.” Dr. Gus had told him he could possibly have occasional headaches and whatnot, but this was the first one he had.

“Should we skip lunch and check on him?” Gwen wondered.

“Have Dad check on him,” Greta suggested. “You know he’ll haul him to the hospital if he thinks there’s even a little something wrong with him.”

“You’re right.” Gwen pulled out her phone and called Gambler.

“He’s gonna be okay, right?” Greta whispered.

I nodded. “Should be.”

Greta was crazy and always saying whatever she thought, but her love for her family ran deep and strong.

“Maybe we can get our food to go, yeah?” Greta suggested.

“It wouldn’t be a bad idea.” I would feel better about Easy if I could get my eyes on him.

Mexican to go was a good way to eat but also get to Easy quicker.

Win, win.

Easy

“You good?”

I closed my eyes and tried to slow the thump rocking my head. “Why?” I asked.

“Your mom just texted me asking to check on you,” Dad explained.

“My head hurts, but I’m good. Dr. Gus said headaches may be common the next couple of months.”

“You sure it's not something else?”
