“Have I ever told you how much I love your brothers?”

“Can younot, when I have my dick inside of you?”

That intensified Diamond’s giggles.

Rebel

Rebel entered the club house and waved at the few brothers who were scattered around the main room, before he headed down the hallway to Axle’s office. The door was closed, so Rebel gave the door a few knocks with his knuckle and waited.

“Yeah,” Axle called out from the other side of the door.

“Rebel,” he replied.

“Come in,” Axle ordered.

Rebel opened the door and stepped inside. What he found on the other side of the door was Axle sitting in his office chair with Gorgeous sitting on his desk in front of him. Thankfully, they were both clothed.

“Hey Reb,” Gorgeous, Axle’s mate, said with a smile and slid off the desk. After giving Axle a kiss, she rounded the desk and approached Rebel. She patted him on the arm as she passed.

“Hey Gorgeous.”

“I’ll leave you boys to gossip,” she commented with a giggle as she left the office and shut the door behind her.

Rebel chuckled as he took a few steps and sat down in a chair across the desk from Axle.

Looking over at his president, he was happy to see the man had a slight smile on his face. They had been put through the ringer, lately, especially Gorgeous. It was good to see a moment of happiness for them.

“How’s she doing?”

The smile slowly faded from Axle’s face, and Rebel felt like an ass. “She’s… really good at putting a smile on her face and pretending she’s not dying inside.”

“How areyoudoing?”

Axle shook his head and crossed his arms over his chest. “I feel like I failed her… and Emerson. The only one who can get him to eat is Gorgeous, but I don’t like her being around him right now, because he’s not… nice.”

“His mate died,” Rebel said, cautiously.

“I know.” Axle winced. “Doesn’t mean I like him being an ass to Gorgeous.”

“I doubt she takes it personally. Let her take care of him. It probably helps her.”

“Yeah.” Axle cleared his throat. “You said you had a problem we needed to address.”

Rebel ran through what Ruby had told him about Sharon White and her outburst at the library. When he was done, Axle’s brows were pulled together, and his eyes were practically shooting fire.

“They can say whatever the hell they want to say about us, but we will not stand by while they ruin the reputation of a good woman, especially not one who is family.”

Rebel bit back the grin. He knew Axle would respond like that. “She hasn’t accepted she’s my mate, yet. She knows. We had… a talk, last night, but she’s processing.”

Axle jerked back and threw up his hands. “What is there to process? You love her. Your wolf loves her. From what I hear, she’s pretty damn into you.”

Rebel chuckled. “I seem to remember a time, not that long ago, when you had to do some convincing of your own with the woman who just walked out of here.”

Axle barked a laugh. “True.” Then, he sighed. “Okay. So, we need to figure out how to replace the funding.”

Rebel nodded and cleared his throat. “Well… some of it. I have savings, and I—“

“Shut the fuck up,” Axle said and waved off his words. “Wewill figure it out. I’ll call church for tomorrow, like three. Rock and the guys should be back by then. Get us the figures. Or… pull Keys in. I’m sure he can get what we need.”
