Axle looked over at Pike. “Give him a few minutes. Then, go question him on who he’s working with. Make sure we have all the names. This shit needs to end.”
Pike nodded and left the office, shutting the door behind him.
Axle was shutting down his computer and getting ready to call Rebel with an update on Ruby’s place. Before he could head up to his room at the compound to snuggle his daughter, fuck his woman and get some sleep, there was a knock on the door. Biting back the groan, he called out, “Yeah.”
“Dragon,” Dragon’s voice said through the door.
Shit.It wasn’t something he could put off until the morning. He had sent Dragon and Keys on a local mission. He needed to know what they figured out.
“Come in.”
The door opened, and Dragon stepped in, followed by Keys. After shutting the door behind them, they each took a seat across the desk from him.
“What did you find out?”
It was Keys who spoke first. “Well, Dragon entered the room with the key from Mama Hen. He told me about the cameras he found and the brand. I was able to break the encryption on them and the app she used. Then I deleted any footage of Dragon in her room.”
Dragon added, “I searched the stuff in her room. Didn’t find much. Clothes, bathroom shit, and the cameras. Then, I found a locked metal black suitcase slid under one of the beds.”
“Get it open?”
Dragon shot him a look that made sure Axle knew he was offended by the question.
“Right. And what was in it?”
“Weapons. A lot of silver bullets and blades.”
Axle rolled his eyes. “Ah… so we’re werewolves who shift on the full moon and are allergic to silver?”
“Apparently.”
“There was also a polo shirt in her clothes with a logo on it. One I hadn’t seen before. I took a pic and sent it to Keys.”
Keys nodded. “It took a lot of searching and some looking around on the hidden channels, but I found a posting about an academy for hunters, and not the deer hunter variety.”
Shit.
“I haven’t been able to track a location or the money backing it, but apparently, they are recruiting people to go to this academy and train to hunt shifters down. Looks like this is the group the champions told us about.”
“And one of them is in our town.”
“Looks like it,” Dragon confirmed.
“This is bad,” Axle breathed out on a sigh.
“Yup,” Keys agreed.
“Let’s hope the prospect does a good job and can get us more info.”
“We patching him in?” Dragon asked.
Axle nodded. “I’m bringing up the vote first church after the carnival, but he can’t wear colors until he’s done with the mission.”
“Well, he has my vote,” Dragon said and stood.
“By the way,” Keys said as he straightened, “I changed the code so that when she gets the cameras back up and running, I’ll get a copy of the feed.”
Axle grinned at him. “Glad you’re on our side.”
