He shrugged. “I’ve never seen you shifted. Youclaimto be a tiger shifter, but… are youreally?”

Crush rolled her eyes. “You’re stupid.”

Lucifer swallowed down his chuckle. “Are you worried that Bullet is a prettier kitty than you are? Don’t worry, Sugartits. You know I’ll always think you’re prettier.”

She scowled at him. “I don’t give a fuck if you think my tiger is prettier than Bullet’s.”

“I think you do. It’s the only reason you wouldn’t shift in front of me. I mean… I know my opinion means a lot to you.” Her hiss made him grin. “I just want to put you at ease, Sugartits.”

“I was at ease until you opened your fucking mouth and started speaking.”

“Now, Sugartits, we both know that’s true. Nonetheless, it doesn’t change the fact that you haven’t shifted in front of me. And unless you can prove otherwise, I will keep assuming it’s because you’re nervous to find out my opinion of your tiger.”

Her eyes flashed that greenish-gold light seconds before she shoved the open pizza box off the bed and shifted. In the blink of an eye, he was face to face with a fully grown tiger female, hissing and snarling at him.

She was fucking gorgeous in her tiger form. The many colors in her fur and the long whiskers sticking out from her face were mesmerizing to him. But if he didn’t know she loved him, he’d be pissing himself at the sight of those fangs. Her head was at least four times the size of his. He assumed her body was, too, but he couldn’t see it since her snarling teeth were only inches from his face.

Not one to show any fear, and truly not afraid of her, Lucifer reached up and ran his hand through the fur on the back of her head. It was somehow soft but coarse at the same time, a lot thicker than he expected, and had an oily coating to it.

“Why am I so turned on, right now?” Slowly he moved his hand forward, giving pets, until he reached the tuft of fur behind her ear. Lifting his other hand, he gave her scratches behind her ears and murmured, “You really are just a pretty kitty, aren’t ya? Yeah, my pretty kitty.”

She leaned into the scratches for only a few moments before she hissed and shifted back.

Lucifer chuckled as he watched her subconsciously rub the spot behind her human ear.

“Shut up,” she grumbled.

“That was possibly the hottest thing I’ve ever experienced,” he said, and motioned to his erection, tenting the sheet over his lap.

Crush rolled her eyes, but he didn’t miss the fact that she bit her bottom lip. After a few moments, she yanked the sheet back and threw her leg over him. Straddling his waist, she leaned forward and scowled at him.

“Are you going to glare at me or fuck me?” He grinned.

She didn’t verbally answer, but the fact that she reached between them, took his erection in her hand, and lined his cock up at her entrance was all the answer he needed.

CHAPTER THIRTY

Crush

Thesunshiningthroughthe window woke Crush from the deepest sleep she’d had in years. She was warm and cozy, wrapped around a hard body. Opening her eyes, she looked into the sleepy eyes of her mate. The smirk on his face had the memory of the night before rushing back into her brain.

She was a married woman. Holy shit. She actually married Lucifer… without telling anyone. When they got home, their family was going to kick their asses right before they kicked off an impromptu celebration, unless Lucifer got his shit together and finally accepted what the Howlers were offering him. Then it would be her girls kicking off the party, while the men handled business.

While she was grateful for Lucifer’s loyalty and willingness to put his foot down in her honor, Crush knew he wanted to be a Howler. It was something he wanted in his core. He needed the colors to complete him, make him happy outside of what she could provide as his mate.

“You need to take the prospect offer,” she said as she shifted up on a bent elbow.

He shook his head as if her words caught him off guard. Then he blinked and uttered, “Okay. I’m not sure how I feel about the Howlers being the first thing you think of when you wake up in my arms.”

She rolled her eyes. “I wasn’t thinking about them. I was thinking about you. You want it.”

He slid himself up until his back was to the headboard and sighed. “I won’t accept it without them agreeing to change their ways with you.”

Crush smiled and shifted closer, so she was once again pressed against his side. Sliding her hand down his chest and abdomen, she said, “Once my mate is a member, I have full faith that he’ll make sure they don’t keep doing the same shit. After all, what better way to change things than from the inside?”

As she wrapped her hand around his morning erection, she heard his breath catch.

He cleared his throat and replied, “True.”
