“Frank, what if our mating has consequences?”
He shook his head in confusion. “What consequences?”
“A baby.” I whispered.
He reached out and grabbed the collar, then wrapped his arms around me and lifted me from his lap and stood up, kicking off his boxers and walking towards our bedroom. Once inside, he playfully tossed me on the bed and climbed over me.
“How do you feel right now?”
“Safe. Loved. Protected.” I looked up into his blue eyes and smiled.
“You’re mine. For now and always.” He dropped his head to mine. “I will take care of you and our children whenever we have them.”
“Rawr.” I licked his chin. “Ready to play?”
He smiled and straddled my body to sit up and put the collar on me. “Let the fun begin.”
Last night we barely slept. We made love all day in between breaks for food and little naps. Even this morning we were at it again; but what a wonderful way to wake up.
Yesterday I met with two of the men I looked up to most in the fashion world. I hated to admit it, but being cursed had become one of the best things to ever happen to me.
Frank’s arms wrapped around my middle, holding me tight, and I leaned my head on his shoulder.
“Would you like to see where I work? And then I can show you around Cloud City.”
“I would love that, Frank.” I sat up and looked into his eyes. “But I have nothing to wear.”
“Ralph’ll send some things over for you, then tomorrow you can check out the racks at the office and choose some other garments.”
I couldn’t stop my jaw from falling open. “You can’t be serious.”
“Of course I am, love.” He kissed the top of my head. “I’ll make sure you’ll have anything you could ever want.”
Shivers raced through my body. “You are so handsome and kind and sweet. You deserve someone stunningly beautiful to be on your arm.”
“Pricilla. I am a successful business owner. I’ve increased sales and distribution; I’ve brought us into a new age. On my own, I did that. With my brain. Guess what else I can do with that brain?”
“What?” I squeaked out.
“I can see what a gift I have before me.”
I could feel the tears filling my eyes. The whole time I lived in Oz with my pride, no one looked twice at me. “I need to know something.”
“Anything.” Frank caressed my cheek and wiped away a stray tear.
“Are you going to make me go back?”
“Go back?” His handsome face scrunched up. “To Oz?”
I nodded.
“I can’t make you do anything. But if you find a reason, you need to go back and don’t want to go alone. I will be there with you. If you’ll have me?”
Leaning in, I pressed a gentle kiss to his lips. “I’ve never met anyone like you.”
“Is that a good thing?”
“It’s everything.”
